Ivanhoe (1982 TV Movie)

Well done

Saw this for the first time in 2023. Its dated by now, but the cast is superb, acting is great and its a very nice period piece. It is deserving of the emmy nomination it received mostly because of the wonderful group of actors. I wasnt expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Ms. Hussey was at the time one of the most beautiful women in the world and would have to be if chosen to be the virgin Mary. Her face is literally mesmerizing and the director used her flawless features in many closeups to his advantage. James Mason and Sam Elliott are top shelf actors and the supporting cast was excellent.

Escape Through Africa (2022)

Really were the British really that stupid?

I cant believe any government who wanted to get a foothold in Africa would make such a feeble attempt as to put a few poorly trained soldiers and mercenaries in a small outpost in the middle of nowhere overseeing a range of wild animals and savages. That being said, even if were true, this movie does a terrible job portraying it. The acting is mediocre to bad, fight scenes undramatic and unreal, cinematography is nonexistent and other than suspenseful music, its just a poorly written and acted movie. If you want to see a real movie about the British army in Africa I would suggest the original movie "Zulu" with a debut by actor Michael Caine.

Cry Macho (2021)

Huge disappointment

Poorly written dialogue. Pointless script that wasted a lot of time trying to create some sense of emotion but fails miserably. The fact that anyone would send a 91 year old man down to Mexico to bring an illegal across the border into Texas is far fetched. The final straw was thinking an old man who can barely walk could break a wild horse. I know it's Hollywood, but, get real. This movie was nearly unwatchable.

I was suspicious when I saw the slick packaging but paid 12 bucks for it anyway. One minute in I knew it Was a big mistake. I was hoping it might be as good as T-34, but, unfortunately it is the cheapest, worst, Horribly bad movie I've ever seen. I let it play while I read the reviews so I'm not the only one stupidest Enough to play it. And that's only because I wanted To at least run it through because I spent the money.

Walmart should put a warning on any movie that is From this ITN production company. I will always check The back cover from now on.
