The Paedophile Hunter (2014)
Nothing but a scammer these days....
Take a look at him now on Facebook, all he does is scam people for money for projects that never happen, such as a Kickstarter in 2015 to do another documentary, which raised 32 grand and the documentary never happened, and money wasn't refunded.
He does lives where he talks about his supposed mental health problems (for sympathy), random stories in the news, or whatever just so people can throw stars at him.
He constantly re-uploads all his decade old stings again and again, because he has them monitised and makes money from the adverts on them.
When something doesn't go his way he blames everybody else but himself for it, even when he's clearly at fault, because he lacks accountability, and maturity.
His latest money making scheme is a "community cafe", which will never happen. He participated on a Christmas song recently, where the other guy (Kieran Bott) did pretty much everything on the song, and all Stinson did was play bass guitar badly, and shouted on the song about how Home Alone 2 was better than Home Alone, that was his sole contribution. He posted it on his social media accounts, and did an interview with a newspaper in Coventry, nothing more, and when it didn't succeed in charting anywhere blamed the other guy, who did so more than he did, and has been in the music industry for around two decades. He was hoping for it to hit the top 40, it didn't even hit the top 4000.
Hes a convicted arsonist who burned a school causing £250,000 worth of damage, for which he served a prison sentence, urinated on his ex-girlfriends clothes out of sheer spite, and uses people for his own means then dumps them when he's done with them, and so much more.
He's no hero, he's nothing to be admired and looked up to, he's just a grifter who cannot move on from what he did well over a decade ago. He claims full PIP and it's about time the DWP looked into him, and the money he makes.
Expend4bles (2023)
A franchise ending entry....
So there we have it, the absolute end of, what has been, a largy unimpressive series of action films, despite the heavyweight talent involved.
The first was serviceable, but ruined by too much badly done CGI (especially the blood), a problem which has plagued all of the films. Practical effects and stunts, plus blood squibs, should have been adhered to throughout to give the violence a more grounded feel, and to give it some heft.
The second was easily the best of the franchise, even if the humour failed mostly for being too on the nose, when subtlety was needed. It was great to see Scott Adkins in it though, it's just a pity his role wasnt larger, to showcase his exceptional talents.
The third was full of UFC fighters most of the audience had never heard of, or cared about. Mel, as the bad guy, was the only highlight in a pretty mediocre, and instantly forgettable effort.
And now we get blighted with what is arguably one of the most boring, badly made, poorly edited action films seen in a long time.
The good.....erm, nothing really, I'd struggle to say anything positive since all involved have done far better, and the action looks like it's been ported from a PS2 cut-scene it's that fake looking, and pedestrian.
The bad....here we go.
The action, one of the main reasons people watch these films, is as generic as it gets, coupled with poor editing, too many close-ups and no thrills whatsoever. Going through the motions is how it's best described, with liitle passion for the end results.
The story, such as it is, is predictable. If you cannot see what's coming an hour before it comes then I'll assume your a stranger to this type of film. There are no surprises, just well trodden clichés and tropes.
The music, which should be a major part of action scenes to stir up excitement, is straight out of an episode of a TV series. It's so bland you barely notice it, it's there just because there has to be something playing, but no thought was put into it (see John Wick for how music perfectly complements the action on screen).
As for the 'new guys', 50 cent turns up to mumble his lines without the slightest bit of conviction. Megan Fox, I'll assume, is there for nothing more than 'eye candy', I mean she cannot act, and I don't find her even remotely attractive. Then there's that other guy, who's so forgettable I can't remember a single thing about him. Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais are completely wasted in this drivel, which is shocking since their talents are immense, and not open for debate. They both should have shone brightly, but through no fault of their own, they didn't. They deserved better, much better.
Stallone mumbles through his cameo appearance, Statham does his usual Statham impression, to lesser effect, Dolph has long hair, and Randy is reduced to a few blink and you'll miss him scenes. Oh yeah, Andy Garcia plays the unsurprising bad guy, I almost forgot that since he's that underwhelming.
So the franchise is officially dead ($8.3 million opening weekend in North America three weeks ago told us that), there's always the danger of a spin-off (probably Statham themed), but I hope not. Let this be the end of it, the franchise ran out of steam quickly, as did my interest. Treat this film as the wake after the death of the third film, attend if you must, have a few drinks, but walk away from it remembering the scant few good moments the films gave us, and the promise that was unfulfilled.
