Shingeki no Kyojin: Bystander (2018)
"Because he was born into this world"
It's truly incredible how Hajime Isayama can take side characters that you never thought much about like Keith Shadis and Carla Jaeger, and elevate them. He consistently does this too. And Carla saying the line that essentially motivates our protagonist to go to hell and back for his goals makes her much more than the Anime Mom That Died. Recontextualizing certain events like the Fall of Wall Maria and tying them into Grisha's backstory makes us appreciate and understand the weight of the narrative even more. Thank you Isayama. Peak fiction :}.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Sneak Attack (2022)
Peak fiction
Gabi gets some insanee character development that ties into the themes of the story as a whole. Slowed Ashes on the Fire actually had me convulsing. IT'S SO GOOD AAAAAA. But did I expect any less from Attack on Titan?
Shingeki no Kyojin: To You, in 2000 Years: The Fall of Shiganshina, Part 1 (2013)
Beginning of a masterpiece
One of the best first episodes in fiction, and its value will only compound as the animated series wears on. I predict that people will be returning to this title to witness the unfathomable scale of Hajime Isayama's foreshadowing and storytelling :}.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Judgment (2022)
LET'S GOOOOO
We know the hype that's to come. We must break the internet again. 10/10 ratings only, because you know full well that MAPPA's staff and Isayama's decade of hard work deserves it. Plus there're psych ward patients running around giving it 1/10 ratings so we have to bring balance :}.
