Spartacus (2004)
Disappointment
23 April 2004
I felt that Goran overacted, some of the costumes looked like they were borrowed from braveheart, as well as some of the cast and dialogue. The movie failed to peak my imagination and keep me interested. I give this movie....... a big yawn. Crassus was played by the same actor as Robert the Bruce, and played his part well. I thought that the movie did not capture the spirit of those who faught and died for their freedom, it did not fully convey the heartache and disappointments. Jim Caviesel would have been a better Spartacus. There was not enough of the relationship between Crassus and Spartacus and why Crassus wanted him defeated. There also wasn't much of the jealousy Cassus had for Pompey.

Hellboy (2004)
Excellant Movie
23 April 2004
The special Effects were awesome and the story line flowed very well. Ron Perlman's performance as HellBoy was fantastic, just as he was magnificent as Vincent in the series Beauty and the Beast. Selma Blair and John Hurt did well in their parts too. The director and screenplay writer are to be commended. I am hoping that there will be a sequel and that the relationship between Lizz Sherman and Hellboy will be explored, as well as how she got her powers and how Abe Sapien was found. I can't wait for this movie to come out on DVD, it would be interesting to see what was deleted and how they came up with some of the effects. I also am interested in how the actors felt about their characters.

a true inspiration
15 September 2003
Not being with your children on a daily basis is hard, take it from someone who knows. This movie illustrates how much the love of ones children will inspire a non custodial parent to do whatever it takes to be involved in the daily lives of his kids and grow as a human being because of it. This movie should serve as an inspiration to all, that no matter what, seemingly impossible odds can be overcome and that if we think about the good of the children and not ourselves, that things will turn out much better.

The Lottery (1996 TV Movie)
an illustration that shows that some traditions shouldn't be kept
5 March 2002
This film is truly an illustration that some traditions shouldn't be kept. If a tradition that has long been upheld causes extreme cruelty or death of those who follow it, then it should be abandoned. There are still traditions out there that are just as gruesome in real life and yet, just as the one in the film, are allowed to continue. Just as in the film, people become so blinded by their traditions that they sometimes forget the difference between right and wrong. Unspeakable acts are committed, yet those blinded by tradition just stand by and allow them to take place.

When He's Not a Stranger (1989 TV Movie)
a glimpse into the real treatment of rape victims
4 March 2002
This film provides us with a glimpse into how rape victims are really treated. This film is an illustration of what goes on behind the scenes, and how it is the victim that is really put on trial not the guilty. When a sports star commits a crime, he is held above reproach, and those who would dare to "tarnish" their good name are treated like villains instead of the victims they truly are. Schools should keep in mind that it would be far more beneficial for the guilty to be prosecuted than to cover up the crime and risk discovery of the truth and face a litany of legal action.

well done and entirely possible
3 March 2002
Considering the scandals that have happened as of late, the plot of this film is entirely possible. Absolute power does corrupt those who obtain it. Down through history, there have been leaders that have committed unspeakable acts thinking they would not be punished. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and wouldn't mind having this on DVD. By the way, two of the cast members:Dennis Haysbert(Tim Collin) and Penny Johnson(Laura Simon) are currently starring together on the series 24;Haysbert as David Palmer and Johnson stars as his wife.

Hide and Seek (2000 Video)
8/10
Great Suspense thriller
26 February 2002
This is the story of a couple's quest to have a baby gone awry, I thought it was brilliant. Daryl Hannah's performance as Anne was wonderful, Jennifer Tilly was her usual brilliantly quirky insane self. I was rivotted to the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. If you haven't seen this movie yet, it is worth renting.

A Truly Haunting Movie
14 February 2002
This movie has haunted me for twenty four years, I saw it when I was ten years old. It is not just about a boy, a mysterious girl and a giant sea turtle; it is about what can happen if you trust someone blindly, and the importance of heeding warnings of those who who care about us. I strongly recommend this film and can't wait to see it again, I would love to find it on video or see it again on cable.

The Musketeer (2001)
This was not the worst one made.
17 December 2001
I thought the plot was excellent as well as the special effects. The stunt choreography was very well done. The actor who played D'Artagnan did a good job at it. I thought the movie was well cast and looked like it was fun to make. I would definitely want this one in my film library.

Shrek (2001)
Shrek was beautifully done
17 December 2001
The story line was full of excitement and never a dull moment, the animation was very well done. The actors who lent their voices were also well chosen. This is definitely a must see, it has something for everyone. It even had suspense, romance and intrigue. This is a movie that even the manliest man wouldn't be ashamed of seeing.

All for one and one for all.
17 December 2001
This movie was very well done, from the actors to the sets and costumes. The plot was action packed yet full of substance. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery as well. I would have to say that this was the best one of all of the Musketeer movies, in that it was not done as a bit of a farse as the ones starring Michael York and Richard Chamberland. Oliver Platt's performance as Porthos added a bit of the comical element, but it was tastefully done. Tim Curry made a wonderful villain in this one, he made Richelieu into a maniacal mad man, I think he should always play a villain, he has a knack for it.
