Worst Episode of Mom!
27 December 2022
Worst episode of Mom I have ever seen! Disgusting! And I'm generally a fan of the program. Not funny. Not anything! The editorial and review people must have been on vacation. Bad plot! Bad story line. I could not watch all of it! Maybe it got better in the end. Maybe. Maybe. But I do not see how. Again, Worst episode of Mom I have ever seen! Disgusting! Great story idea, but not well produced.
8 February 2008
Michael Landon's "Little House on the Prairie" is similar in concept, and "Miracle at Sage Creek" producers should have watched a few of those shows to learn how to make a viewer's heart feel a story. And too many production liberties were taken. For example, the only thing cold about the weather was the conversations about how cold it was.

I like a "feel-good" story, but it needed more showing and less telling. The characters simply were not developed very well, so it was difficult to share their troubles or feel great about the resolutions of those troubles. And time was wasted on meaningless "excusions". For example, we were given a rather lengthy introduction to the Judge's wife early, and then she never reappeared.

This is the kind of movie I like and pull for, but this one was B Rated at best.

Long and slow first half. Very strong second half.

The introduction lasts over an hour, and it should be edited to 20 minutes! After that I would rate the movie an 8. Very thought provoking, with real meaning! The acting is good to very good.

Claire was absolutely perfect in her role. She was a consistent and refreshing personality, the kind of person one would like to know in this mostly impersonal materialistic society.

Drew was better than adequate in his role, but became a little hard to bear in his misery and doldrums. Drew's shortcomings served to make Claire all the more amazing.

Worth watching, especially if it is recorded and you can fast forward during the first hour.
