NCIS: Sydney (2023)
Sydney sure looks beautiful.
Only good thing about this show is the landscape. The acting is unimpressive, boring, one dimensional and amateurish. The lead woman is atrocious. The writing is typical of these types of shows. Explaining everything to a child. I'm so tired of "actors" with the only experience they have coming from film class. Go work on the stage and find out what acting is really about! I certainly hope now that the writers strike is over this show can get something good going. This is a time-killer for me and a painful one at that. Change the lead or someone teach her how to smile and stop "acting". More experienced Australians please.
Will Trent (2023)
Such a good show
Love this show. Stories are unique. Will Trent is a least likely hero and sexy lead. Writing is terrific. Not pedantic or playing to the "lowest denominator" audience member. For cable tv it's really good. Humour. Acting. Plots. Chemistry. Characters are being fleshed out. I truly hope this can get a few seasons under it's belt. So often good tv shows are canceled because, again, they are playing to a higher level of viewer. And those that don't "get it" are winning. We need more intelligent television. Less formula-written schlock. I watch a lot of cable tv and it's all so predictable and boring. I don't know how the actors go to work everyday. Keep up the good work Will Trent!!!
Password (2022)
No class
Where's the humor? Where's the class? Fails miserably. It's a show about jimmy Fallon and his friends being funnier then each other. They actually aren't funny at all. They are obnoxious, loud and seriously annoying.
The Umbrella Academy: The Swedish Job (2020)
Gut wrenching
Lots going on in this episode. The hardest part was the diner scene. I can't imagine the atmosphere on set before during and after that was completed. It must have been incredibly emotional for all those involved. The brutality and pure ignorance that went on then is unfathomable and watching it made my heart hurt.
The Rookie: Enervo (2022)
What is going on!?
This is not John Nolan's Rookie. The additional characters are boring. There is no chemistry between John and Bailey. The trainee is annoying and not funny. They are taking away from the tight group of characters and great chemistry.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall? (2022)
Credit where credit is due
Why are the choreographers from shows not included In the director category or have a category for themselves? Shows like "Zoey's extraordinary..." were built on the music. They are just as important as the director etc.
The Amazing Race: No Room for Error/In the Hands of the Amazing Race Gods (2022)
Yeah for older contestants
So glad they won!!! Life lessons and experience and maturity paid off. Learn that you younguns! It's grueling but they should be so proud of themselves.
Law & Order: Organized Crime: As Hubris Is to Oedipus (2022)
Boring
Get over this storyline. Tedious. Dramatic beyond realism. Constant road blocks are frustrating. Don't really care about of them. I love chris meloni. But it's too depressing seeing the constant struggle. Better story lines needed.
Law & Order: The Right Thing (2022)
It's back!'
I miss the original actors but willing to give the new ones time to find their stride. Writing is good as always. Only wish they kept the original theme music rather than modernizing it. Wasn't necessary. Best theme on tv.
Reacher (2022)
Holding true to the book's character
Jack Reacher is a character in a terrific series by Lee Child. Reacher is 6'5" and built like a tank. He's not quite as good looking as being portrayed but it's tv. The character is very believable as the character Child wrote. Read the books. Forget Tom Cruise's attempt at playing Reacher. I hope they get to film other books.
New Amsterdam: Laughter and Hope and a Sock in the Eye (2021)
Man and wife?!
I love this show. But "man and wife"???? Who allowed that to happen? The archaic wedding vow "man and wife" has been erased from tv/movie scripts for a long time. How did it get into this one? Such a forward thinking show. Ugh.
CSI: Vegas (2021)
Disappointing
I was soooo looking forward to this. I have the original series on dvd and it truly was my fave show. Lovely intro to Grissom. And then epi 2. Awful. He's acting like an old man. It's like he and Hodges have forgotten who they were at one time. Could be the writing too. There's no chemistry between any of them. They've lost the "thing" that made it such a special show. I will watch just cuz. But very disappointed.
Luxe Listings Sydney (2021)
Pandemic?
How did they do this without any social distancing or masks when Australia is reporting another lockdown.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Potential not fulfilled
Besides my ambivalence towards the show, what really peeves me is the terrible sound. Music is so loud. Can't hear dialogue under it. Had to turn the volume down when there was music and volume up when there was dialogue. Annoying and unnecessary.
New Amsterdam: The Legend of Howie Cournemeyer (2021)
Missing Dr Kapoor.
I am sorry to hear of the departure of Anupam Kher. I will miss the lovely character and terrific acting. I am particularly sorry for the reason he left the show. Best wishes to his family.
New Amsterdam: The New Normal (2021)
Welcome back New Amsterdam
So glad this show is back. The opening sequence is so terribly moving and brilliantly done. My heart aches for the front line workers, once again. Bravo.
The Rookie (2018)
Great show
Love this show. I hope it has a long life. Stories are engaging characters are fun and quirky.
Chicago Fire: My Lucky Day (2021)
Ugh
Holly needs to shut up and grow up. Tedious mundane dialogue.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Continuity
Why is it that she's not allowed to go I to the lobby alone but can walk around Moscow by herself without an escort? Bad.
Bosch (2014)
Real people
Love the older female actresses. Talent, experience and real faces.
The Blacklist: The Kazanjian Brothers (No. 156/157) (2020)
Kudos
I disagree the animation was not good. It was stylized and a taste of something different. I think they did a great job intertwining the live and animation. I agree it would be interesting to see this more often. Obviously we'd rather see the actors in their natural state; I missed mr spader's facial expressions. Bravo.
