Some minus points of this movie
15 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
For many years it has been possible to replace a damaged heart valve either with a biological valve or a mechanical one. So to me it's a bit over the top when the hospital declares that Jared will need a heart transplant. But for the filmmakers it's convenient because in the film Dawson is killed.

Unexpected "faults" in the way that the film progressed.
30 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When Tyler first got Ovi out of trouble he told him to put on what looked like a bullet-proof vest. But later on in the movie that vest had disappeared for no good reason. Apart from that there are several things that happened which I find not credible, such as both Tyler and Saju both suffering what seemed like very serious injuries, yet still keep going. I would say that the credibility of the movie suffered because of how that was handled.

Windtalkers (2002)

99% action & shots, 1 % code-talkers
22 July 2014
I had been looking forward to watching this movie, but boy was I disappointed. I thought the subject was very interesting so I forgot to check the reviews of the movie. It could have been a great movie under other circumstances. Unfortunately I didn't know about action film director and producer John Woo, had I known about him I would have been more wary. What a waste of more than 2 hours! We only hear small fragments of the story about the Navajo code-talkers, most of the movie is wasted on long scenes with shooting and violence that has nothing to do with what should have been the main part of the movie: the story of the code-talkers. I feel snubbed, it could have become a great movie. But then they had to waste the opportunity and end up with more than 2 hours of unbelievable crap: long scenes with guns blazing and hardly no mention of what should have been the main theme: the Navajo code-talkers.

I am so disappointed, I hope that some day there will be a film that really tell the story of the code-talkers.

A very good film, but a little aged, of course

Just a brief comment for now, of all the versions that I watched of Little lord Fauntleroy filmatisations, this one in my opinion features the best fitting actors if you compare with the book. And shining gloriously at the top is Sir C. Aubrey Smith (the old Earl - Cedric's grandfather). No other actor that I have seen so far comes closer to portraying the old Earl as gruff and cantankerous as he comes across in the beginning of the book. A slight minus is the low technical quality of the film, but being made in 1936 it is not bad all things considered. I might add that this was the first filmatisation that I watched and thus my opinion might be a little biased but I think that this film is still on the top shelf in terms of overall quality, a true classic. Don't miss it if you have the opportunity to watch it.
