Kitchen Nightmares (2007–2023)

Overly dramatic but fun, really poor grammar
26 September 2023
I know the show is overdramatized for effect, but I have walked in and walked out of nasty restaurants. Unfortunately, like many big cities and towns, local oversight by health inspectors is disappointingly sparse. Many are never inspected after they are up and running.

Gordon said it has been almost a decade since the show was on air. The format is the same. And the poor grammar, between you and I, for she and her whatever. Should be between you and me, for her and whatever. That was Jennifer from Master Chef, but Gordon and the other chefs frequently slaughter English grammar. I think a lot of people think the poor grammar is not only correct. But it makes them sound highly intelligent. Ugh!

Most of the restaurants Gordon tries to rehab fail. By the time he gets there they are already too far gone.

Fun interesting show
10 August 2023
The show is fun, entertaining and provides some good ideas for meals and different food ideas. That's nice because you get tired of the same old thing all the time.

I know that the competitors must have classes or tutoring on how to make the different dishes because even seasoned chefs have notes or recipes available.

The episode on baking cakes was one of the best, but I know that the cooks had to have advanced knowledge of the cake they had to make and probably cheat notes.

As I said, this episode was fun and the cakes were really pretty. I think to be fair, though, the cooks should have to make the same cake

One criticism of the show, Gordon's grammar makes me cringe at times. He says between you and I all the time which is horrible grammar. Thankfully, fewer ppl are using that poor construction less often than they used to.

I think that ppl thought it made them sound more intellectual.

Ridiculous like a bad car wreck
25 June 2023
Unseen is absolutely ridiculous. But like a bad car wreck, you cannot stop watching, well some of us anyway. My friend couldn't take it. No spoilers, but all of it was highly improbable, unrealistic, and silly. Good for entertainment while you are folding clothes, brushing the dog or doing anything where your full attention is not required.

It could become one of those cult classics. But I just would not watch it again. Once for me is enough.

The movie seemed long and drawn out and I lost interest at times. It is never a good sign when you cannot wait for a movie to end.

A lot of the usual tropes present, but you can see for yourself.

Entertaining enough
13 June 2023
Grammar dies everyday. One of the bunnies is gone, not are gone. One is the subject and it is singular.

Subject-verb agreement.

The movie is entertaining enough. Horror movies can be absolutely horrible, bad, tolerable, not bad, good or really good.

Some keep you interested because you want to find out what happened in the end. This one fits into that category.

The main character, Ben, is actually a decent enough actor.

I had to keep putting comments in the review because the site requires six-hundred characters for some reason. If you can convey your opinion of a work in less than six-hundred words, than why not?

Grammar please
12 August 2021
Horrible storyline, no atmosphere, acting terrible, grammar worse (for those keeping track). I smile when " writers" can't use basic grammar skills. For example- between you and I vs proper between you and me; neither one of us are vs. Proper verb is. When the grammar is consistently poor, it usually portends a less than mediocre storyline.
