Tropix (2004)
Decent plot, good acting, beautiful scenery
30 July 2004
A good rental. The director took some liberties with camera angles and flashback scenes in an attempt to be creative. In some cases it worked, in others it was distracting. The plot was decent and included a nice little twist. The acting was good in a campy, independent film way and the scenery breathtaking. As someone who has been to Costa Rica a few times (but for the Eco, not the plastic surgery though that was a funny commentary on the vain state of the world), it was nice to see the country depicted well. The people of Costa Rica are wonderful and warm, it's greedy folks like those in the movie that will ruin it.

In addition, actor Ryan Barton-Grimley is very sexy!

Fastlane (2002–2003)
Ho-hum
26 September 2002
As eye candy, Fastlane pops; a shirtless Peter Facinelli is a delicious treat but the banter is boring. No clever, witty or intelligent dialogue is to be found and the actors deliver their lines in a mundane fashion. The show, without the babes, boys and toys, is just ordinary.

Push, Nevada (2002)
Worth watching!

The season premier was catchy. It has a "Twin Peaks" atmosphere, camera moves reminiscent of "The Dead Zone" and I adore the lead, Jim Prufrock. An IRS agent with attitude - that just cracks me up! (Except that every time I hear his name the poem, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" pops into my head!)

If the writers can keep up the mystery without their viewers getting confused, this show is sure to be a hit!

8 Simple Rules (2002–2005)
Not funny!
18 September 2002
I saw the first episode and this show is just not funny. The timing is poor, the dialogue ridiculous and the acting is atrocious!

Actually, the teenage son is alright and I liked Katy Segal as the mom but the two teenage daughters were just awful. I'm surprised they get work as actors. I've seen high school plays that had better acting and timing. It was so forced! Poor John Ritter, this show is not going to last!

Mean Machine (2001)
Worth renting!!!!!!!!

This is one of the funniest films I have seen in a long while. Anyone a fan of "Snatch" or "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" will love it! The humor, the music, the acting and the soccer scenes make for great fun. I loved the commentary between the two Bob's during the match!

An enjoyable movie

I am not a huge FPjr. fan but he was really good in this flick. He actually acted instead of just flashing his smile a dozen times. It is a cute movie that is what it is. The relationship between Ryan and his family and the relationship he has with his 2 best friends is touching and real. The supporting cast steals the show though. Matthew Lillard is hysterical and Marc Blucas is a riot. I recommend this movie for the pure entertainment value.
