13 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Saw it In '65. There are 2 women in it. Maria the wife of the young fatally injured slow dying Gabriel. He loves her intensely. We see his picture of her twice. When Connie Francis comes on a transistor radio singing "Sansa Fine'" he freaks out. He received a cable from her, saying he has to come home. He thinks she's dying, but maybe she's leaving him. Then there's Farida, a belly dancer Sgt. Watson saw in Benghazi, who he plans to "fix himself up with" if he survives. He hallucinates her dancing, played by dancer Barrie Chase. -- And there's a monkey, "Chucho" like Raiders of the Lost Ark. This film is emotionally overwhelming throughout.

Space Age Love Story
22 May 2021
Stories of men in love with robot women go back to the ancient Greeks, and are numerous. In 1959, with the recent invention of transistors, it was suddenly obvious this was about to happen for real. There was a sitcom in '64 '65 on CBS, "My Living Doll" about a NASA made robot woman hiding out at a guys apartment. The same writers later did "I Dream Of Jeanie" and "Bewitched".

If there's anything about the plot that disturbs you, remember, Corey has the instruction book, knows the manufacturer and model number. Can snag another on ebay.
