Castaway Diva (2023)

Heartwarming Story of Overcoming Adversity
4 December 2023
I just finished watching Castaway Diva and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was especially moved by the performances of Park Eun Bin, Cha Hak Yeon, Chae Jong Hyeop and especially Moon Woo Jin as young Jung Ki Ho. Though the show had some dark moments with vivid portrayals of child abuse, the overall theme was of resilience and hope. The actors were first rate and I was awed again by the talent of Park Eun Bin. She also has a wonderful singing voice. I would like to see her and Cha Hak Yeon in more roles as I think they are very talented actors who become immersed in their parts. I think Kdramas are getting better all the time with quality acting and wonderful and imaginative stories.

A Very Sweet Kdrama
7 August 2023
I thoroughly enjoyed this Kdrama and the acting of Lee Jin Ho and Im Yoon Ah. I think they were casted well together and had good chemistry. I have always thought Lee Jin Ho was a great actor with a lot of heart. I hope there are more shows in the future that have both characters in them. I thought the supporting cast, particularly Sa rang's grandmother were delightful.

I was very surprised and dismayed by the negative reviews as I don't feel this show deserved them. It was so nice to watch something that was so cute and loving and funny at a time when so much being made is dark or negative or sad. I hope more shows like this are made and shown on Netflix.

Thank you.

The Good Bad Mother (2023– )

A heartfelt drama that is well worth watching
11 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ra Mi Ran as the mother and Lee Do Hyun as her son are perfectly cast in their roles. Both are exceptional actors. They had to play very diverse parts and delivered wonderful performances. Ra Mi Ran as the mother portrayed both a mother who seemed not to care about anything except the success of her son and a mother who would sacrifice everything for him.

Lee Do Hyun played an equally demanding role as a prosecutor who seemed to be cold and ruthless and a man, who through an accident, reverts back to a child having to learn the world around him. Lee Do Hyun was so believable in both roles. His childlike innocence was so heartwarming that it brought tears to my eyes.

The two young actors who played his children were also remarkable and brought such joy to their scenes, especially when they were interacting with Lee Do Hyun.

I look forward to many more top quality Kdramas especially with Ra Mi Ran and Lee Do Hyun. Netflix scored a big hit with this series.

A Wonderful Story About Justice
30 May 2023
I was completely captivated by this show! Woo Do Hwan did a fantastic job of acting and N is also a very good actor. The show illustrated some of the inequalities of that period in a thoughtful but entertaining way and though Woo Do Hwan's character appeared goofy at times there was always an underlying seriousness and sense of justice. I was sad when the series was over and I am looking forward to more films that have Woo Do Hwan in them. I also hope to see N in more movies as I think he is also a very good actor and plays his roles with much sensitivity. I am very impressed with current Kdramas and look forward to many more.

A Delightful Must See Drama
31 December 2021
What a wonderful comedy/drama!! Taecyeon is superb at comedy with wonderful facial expressions and a delightful smile. The scenes between his grandmother, who was perfect in her part, and Taecyeon had me laughing out loud. There was great chemistry between the main characters and all the supporting actors did a great job and were well casted. The women in the show, especially Kim Joy, were as strong as the men and I found that refreshing.

I seldom watch a show more than once but this is definitely worth watching again. We need more comedy/dramas like this one that make us laugh and feel good especially during these difficult times.

One Of My Favorite Kdramas
13 November 2021
I was very impressed with this show. Both Kim Min-Jae and Park Gyu-Young were excellent and their chemistry together was awesome. I loved how Dali grew in strength and confidence and Moo Hak learned to appreciate much more than money. I think Kim Min-Jae especially has a great acting career ahead of him. He is very good at comedy and serious roles as well. Park Gyu-Young was made for the part of Kim Dali. I hope there are more shows of this caliper coming soon. This was a definite winner.

Very Good Drama
28 October 2021
I thoroughly enjoyed Lovers of The Red Sky. It was different from other historical dramas I have seen lately because of the blend of fantasy and realism. The last drama that I enjoyed as much was Mr. Queen. I thought Ahn Hyo-Seop did a wonderful job portraying the blind scholar. He played the part with much dignity and reserve. I look forward to seeing him in future roles.

Very good show
19 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved everything about this drama except the ending. Too rushed and ambiguous if the lead couple get together for good in the end. They were so cute together and, being the romantic I am, I wanted them to be together for sure. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the drama and hope more dramas like that are made.
