Firefly Lane (2021)
enjoyed it enough to finish it
It's a bit slow at times and overly syrupy here and there but they've done a good job with jumping form past to present and back, few shows can make it this easy to follow that kind of time travel in story telling. It made laugh and cry, just wish the ending was more satisfying even if they are doing a 2nd season. By the time it rolls around I will have forgotten the details of the first season most likely.
The Resident: A Wedding, A Funeral (2021)
It's a no win
I understand the conundrum the producers of medical shows have deciding whether to cover Covid or not. No one wants to watch it, we're living in it still, it's too much, too depressing. But since they decided to do they should have given it more thought in how they were going to make it cathartic for the audience, instead of depressing. The Resident failed immensly.
Such terrifying, dramatic depiction at first and then to have it all be over with by the end of the first episode is a slap in the face to all of us. I have friends and family who had to postpone weddings, spouses who couldn't be there for the birth of their child and so on, but no, not for these they got to have their wedding because everything solves itself so quickly in this show. They keep taking on heavy topics and give it a half assed effort in developing the story around it. As far as the two love birds they bore me to death and I'm sick of them.
The only wise choice would have been to nip it in the bud and cancel this sorry tv show.
