Plucky woman single handedly stops war.

But she really loves her partner and they tell each other that EVERY conversation.

Oh dear.

So many very implausible situations and the longer it went on the flabbier it got. An interesting concept which started off quite strongly was by episode four running out of legs and relying on more and more improbable situations.

But hey, the two women really really loved each other. Meanwhile, Suranne Jones's glasses and sunglasses played a blinder, definite acting master class in their own right.

So much more I could say, but I've got to go somewhere completely on my own and save the day but I love you!

The Stranger (II) (2022)

Always the bad guy.

I get that the first half was dark, moody and impossible to understand the dialogue to reflect the murkiness of the investigation but boy did it make watching it a big effort. As soon as you see Sean Harris mumbling once again into his big beard you know he's a bad 'un. Sometimes I despair at the laziness of casting, certain actors give the plot away immediately. I didn't know the story but remained pretty unmoved by this telling of it. Plus points, no harrowing shots or details about the young boy and if Western Australia wanted less tourists then it did a good job there too.

As others have said it was too long.

Accept the inaccuracies, enjoy the sets, the art and atmosphere.

Just enjoy this as a drama. As a designer I loved all the 'behind the scenes' depiction of how he achieved his art, the ingenuity, the breadth of ideas. The sets, especially the interiors and locations were gorgeous. There is so much cheap trash on TV, just enjoy something a little different.

Missed opportunity to really tell a story.

The film was too long, too predictable and the interaction with the horses was poor - when will directors realise that horses do not make so much noise all the time? Really poor scenes with the boy and the 'wild' horse, terrible continuity- lead rein attached then not attached etc. As an equestrian I was uncomfortable with how the horses were kept, which was not good for the story. The two boys were good, the father's character barely drawn and strange and the ending flimsy.

Urban cowboys deserved a better film.

Something strange going on here
21 February 2021
This film seems to be sabotaged on here. Ok, it's not the most amazing or brilliant film but no way is it a 1 out of 10 compared to some of the real rubbish that gets good reviews here. Too many 1 out of 10 reviews here to ring true. Watch it and judge yourself in this instance.
