A Very Enjoyable Watch
14 June 2021
An all star cast that boasts the likes of Ingrid Bergman, Curd Jurgens, and Robert Donat, (in his very last apearence before his passing) The Inn Of The Sixth Happiness was a surprising delight to watch. Burgman's performance along with Jurgens' are amazing and combined with the excellent screenplay and cinematography makes for a beautiful romance and classic scenes. The pacing is excellent, the film takes advantage of it's Chinese setting with jaw dropping scenery and lovely authentic costumes. The film score though a little repetitive is wonderful and the love theme is one of the best I have heard in a while. The only flaws with the film are some of the smaller actors, Robert Donat's performance is slightly underwhelming, it is not fully historically acurate to the true story, and some parts of the story seemed rushed. Other than that, the film is excellent and quite recomendable if you have some free time.

A Great Pop Corn Film to Just Enjoy
20 May 2021
Godzilla Vs Long is the film that we have been missing for a while, a good old fashioned pop corn film where you can turn your brain off and just enjoy two monster Titans beating the daylights out of each other for the next entertaining two hours. The filmmakers finally understood not all movies have to be dark and realistic but they can just be fun movies. There is a side plot with the humans that is okay, and the villain isn't that strong, but other than that the film is an epic masterpiece. If you are going in to see meanings, and metaphors don't watch this film if you want balls to the wall action then do watch it.

Quite a let down
20 May 2021
I really don't know what I was expecting out of a remake of the classic 1960s series but this was definitely not it. The film is pretty dry and unfunny as a whole, there really isn't a lot of comedy in it and the little that there is usually falls pretty flat. Plot wise it isn't that compelling and is very predictable. Steve Carell is very good in the movie and tries his best to save the film along with Ann Hathaway, however Terence Stamp is horribly miscast as is Alan Arkin. There are a few good moments such as a dance scene, and the film appears to have some respect for the source material but at the end of the day it's pretty forgettable and just an okay watch.

Hang 'Em High (1968)

Next time you hang a man you better look at him.
31 December 2020
Hang Em High is a film that waists no time getting right into the heart of the plot and never slowing down to take a breath along the way. Clint Eastwood's performance is good as the avenging marshall. Inger Stevens' character however has a pretty weak side plot and a sloppy rushed romance with Eastwood for the sake of ... you know, a romance in the movie. The action is more than satisfying with lots of good tension to go with it. The film score is a bit redundant and generic ( excluding the classic theme for the film ) with an interresting plot and characters. Clint Eastwood's rcharacter is extremely lucky in this movie and cold as December. There is a nice littlw " whose who " of smaller 1960s actors like Alan Hale Jr, ( Gilligan's Island ) Pat Hingle, ( On The Waterfront ) and James MacArthur. ( Swiss Family Robinson ) MacArthur by the way went on to play Detective Danny Williams In Hawaii Five -0 which was created by Leonard Freeman who was the writer of this movie.

STOP TRASHING THIS MOVIE, IT IS GREAT
31 December 2020
Wonder Woman 1984 suffers from the same fate as most movies as of recently, it is bashed and rained on by critics until no one likes it. Wonder Woman 1984 is the best film I have seen all year, I cannot begin to describe all the reasons I love it but I will try. Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman in a steller performance along side an epic cast of Pedro Paskel, Chris Pine and a special shout out to Kristen Wiig for her amazing job in this film. This movie is everything I wanted it to be and then some, an action packed fun ride with nastolgic call backs to the Richard Donner days and the beloved 80s. This movie is not as good or as emotionally deep as the first one, but I dont mind. Instead it decides to be a fun loving, bright light joy ride that makes you a kid all over again. If you watch this movie for what it is ( pure entertainment for two wonderful hours) then I can guarentee complete enjoyment. I dont know, maybe Im just an easy to please fanboy, but to me I am in love with this film and the amazing Gal Gadot. In these trying times, Wonder Woman 1984 is the movie we need to inspire hope and bring back that feel good time to all of us.

Undisputed trash PERSONAFIED!
31 December 2020
OH MY WORD! What did I just watch? This movie is a classic dumpster fire from beginning to end filled with rip offs of Indiana Jones, The Empire Strikes Back, Batman, and countless other better films. If you are familiar with director Paul W.S. Anderson who has incompatantly misused the camera in films like Mortal Kombat, then you know what I am talking about. Rather then telling the classic story with a slight twist, Anderson goes for a sloppy modern super hero attempt of a film which fails every time it tries to walk. The acting is deader then toilet paper, with the exclusion of James Corden who has a few funny moments in this train wreck. Even Mads Mikkelsen from Casino Royale is less then acceptable in this excuse for a film. I sit truelly amazed at the horrible decisions whether sci fi or the cringe worthy script that this film was made. WHY?! By the way, they set up a sequel in the end like that is going to happen.

Even for an old movie...this is pretty bad!
31 December 2020
I believe that old movies get a bad wrap, but this film even for what it is just missed the mark. I won't lie, I do have some fun with this movie but overall it does suffer from a simplistic plot that does drag after a while with a few bright spots. Cary Grant is entertaining (as always) but he is far from saving this film's sometimes failed attempts at comedy which some by today's standards can be offensive and dated.
