Simitrio (1960)
10/10
Top Quality Mexican Drama
10 October 2006
The plot and the story are hard for me to follow thoroughly since the last time I saw this movie was about 20 years ago, but I do have memories of great moments along the scenes.

A well thought drama and performed nicely by the young but talented cast.

You will have to adapt to the lack of audio and video quality of modern times, but it is easily compensated by the quality of the story.

You can say it's a family movie but there are things and situations better understood by young adults and older.

As a quick summary, the story is developed on a rural community and the main character is the rural school teacher who is about to lose his job and his sight due to a degenerative visual illness. The students don't miss a chance to play nasty jokes on his more then patient teacher... things change when a new boy attends to class, and there is where the roller coaster ride begins.

Enjoy!
