I was excited about this movie and awaited it's release with some impatience...but what I got was a film with more style over substance.
The killer's monologue, the backbone of the movie, was flacid and juvenile. This stone-cold machine of an assassin struggled to control his heartbeat after waiting days for a shot. He gets upset and freaks as soon as things don't go to plan, despite his voiceover telling us he plans for every contingency. He gets so upset when his girlfriend, half his age, gets roughed up that he embarks on a vendetta to kill all involved? The Jackal would turn in his grave. There are no insights into the mind of the man, despite us being privy to his thoughts. There is no clinical clarity to this guy. He, and this movie, are a mess. Dull, 3/10 and a Friday night wasted.
