The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023)

film for teenagers, musical comedy, or parody? What's certain is that it's a complete failure.

The film is slow and boring, the story makes no sense, it's full of clichés (teenagers in cages exhibited at the zoo, ridiculous) and wokism (men in skirt uniforms, participant with Down syndrome who brings nothing to the story).

The worst being the acting, the heroine (R Zegler) plays horribly bad, it's exasperating, the young hero is hardly better and even Viola Davis and Peter Dinklage overact and are very bad.

The action scenes are poorly filmed, the special effects are bad, there is no tension, it's very flat and rather boring

Obviously the film is a complete failure, don't waste your time and move on.

Blood Coast (2023– )

Everything is a failure, action scenes, storyline and above all terrible acting.

Why put a good budget into such a basic scenario, the dialogues are ridiculous, the action scenes lousy and the icing on the cake the actors are so bad with a palm for the "hero" and his blonde friend (clearly they didn't learned at the actor studio), the only "experienced" actor duvauchelle is as usual...very bad.

Yet directed by Olivier Marchal, a former cop, this series completely lacks realism, it looks like the script written by chatGPT and played (very badly) by young reality TV addicts.

The story of revenge by a gangster who pretended to be dead after an escape (a ridiculous scene, by the way) is improbable and absolutely stupid.

Move on, another rotten Netflix production.

What a joke, a crap with an aging jackie chan who does '80s jackie chan' but less flexible, slower, John Cena plays it up with lines whose humor smells of the 80s.. hope he got a big check for it.

As for the story....written by chinese communiste party, i sum up, the nice chinese who are kindly exploiting the oil have to leave the refinery because some evil "western terrorists" want to kill everyone and appropriate everything. Oil ... fortunately Jackie is there, to save the workers, prevent theft and help the local populations because it is well known the Chinese "help the local populations"...... Seriously how Netflix can promote such crap.... not to mention that it's super badly played, the special effects are really rotten..... Again an other crap from netflix.

Heart of Stone (I) (2023)

Again a failed netflix production. I don't know which is the worst, the scenario a mixture of movies (an AI who can see everything, a fake good guy who is the bad guy, a geek, a heroine who knows how to do everything...) what a disaster. The acting is, as one might expect, bad, very bad even in the case of the indian geek (but hey, netflix has to address all the markets...) Jamie dornan is over acting, about Gal Gadot, well she does not disappoint, it is always so bad...) a word on the special effects, completely failed .... to put in the series of Red notice, 6 underground, Gray Man .... netflix had to negotiate a wholesale price for rotten scenarios ..... The Oscars have nothing to fear! Another failure for netflix.

BRI (2023– )

a bit disappointing, story and action scenes are ok but acting is a disaster

Overall quite disappointed, it could have been not bad at all despite an original script not very original, it's filmed like "Engrenages" or "Braquo", quite realistic with action scenes which, without being extraordinary are ok, but the real problem comes from the cast very average (to be nice).

Apart from Devos (we do not see her much) and Todeschini (not bad), the rest is average at best or even bad ..... even very bad. The main actor. Sofian Khammes is ok, just ok and the rest....ouch it hurts. The young actors are not at all believable, they over act a lot and for the most part play like crap, a real casting problem that spoils the whole series.

The palm going to a veteran, Elbaz, of a distressing nullity. I don't know what he wanted to play here, but it's worth Cotillard in the scene where she dies in Nolan's Batman .... it deserves a price considering how bad he acts.

In the end, a series that will not mark the annals following a failed casting.

I hope netflix pays its screenwriters an hourly rate.

Because this new crap must have only taken an hour to write.

The scenario is of a rare banality, seen and reviewed thousands of times.

Add to that an acting worthy of the best Christmas romantic comedy and here we have a new challenger for the title of the worst movie of the year.

Only Ben Affleck is missing to secure the title.

J lo tries to make us believe that she is a bad ass actress, and she fails.

Poor joseph Fiennes seems lost (special mention for the rotten makeup and the failed action scenes, the JLo motorcycle scene is to die for. T's so badly done.

Another lousy production from Netflix.

Citadel (2023– )

another failure from amazon despite a big budget

Decidedly amazon still hasn't understood that a big budget isn't everything. For a good series, a real scenario, good actors are a minimum. None of that here.

Stanley Tucci normally very good, does tons of it and was not at all convincing, the same for Richard Madden, as for Priyanka Chopra.....well it's Priyanka Chopra.....we don't expect that what she wins an oscar for her interpretation..... and she confirms everything we expected of her....

the action scenes supposed to be impressive are completely missed, it's really badly filmed and the attempts to modernize by putting 2 shots side by side are painful to watch. The scenario fits on cigarette paper.

Overall it's failed, badly played, badly filmed, story already seen a hundred times (a poor copy of a mix between The Bourne identity and the crap of netflix the gray man.... Amazon should really think about hiring real scriptwriters.. ....and real actors.....

I don't know what's worse, Ana de Arnas' acting, or the richness and depth of the scenario, even the completely failed action scenes.

Apple TV has accustomed us to much better, what happened ?

Think of a real scenario, real actors, etc... (Slow Horses (Gary Oldman wow), Ted Lasso (real funny), pachinko (magnificent), trying (great actors) etc...

I don't understand how the 2 lead actors can be good in another movie (knives out) and so bad without any chemistry in this one, even the music or the attempts at humor in the script fail.

Apple if you don't want to fall to the level of the lousy productions of Netflix or worse of Amazon Prime Video (except for the brilliant series The Boys)....it is urgent to pull yourself together.

Black Adam (2022)

Ouch.....it's really really....bad.

Poor Pierce Brosnan, what's he doing in a crap like that? For the rock, no surprise but Pierce what happened?

The dumbest superheroes ever seen... a kind of Tinkerbell who has the power to make rainbows while swirling through the air.....wow really..... a geek who becomes a clumsy giant... a flying falcon superhero with a costume worthy of the worst Elton John years (my eyes still hurt) the dumbest super villain seen in the last years, etc etc .... painful.

Only ben Affleck is missing as batman and we touch the holy grail of the worst films ever good luck for the future, to do worse seems impossible to me but please try.

Interceptor (2022)

I don't know where to start, the acting of elsa pataky, the scenario, the usual dose of woke, a harassed woman, who rebels, then is ostracized and finally saves the world. Pitiful. Another example of netflix productions, all on the same kind of scenario and awful acting.

After Life (2019–2022)

Brilliant, a mix of irony and melanchony with brillant second roles

Whether you like ricky gervais or not, this series grabs you by the guts, a mixture of sadness and extreme irony. Very funny at times and melancholic at others? The supporting roles are amazing. Cheers.

Derry Girls (2018–2022)

hilarious with a hint of seriousness about the history of northern irelandy

Looking at the pitch, being a 50 year old man I was not predisposed to like this series. It's hilarious, the acting is perfect (sister michael is hilarious). Well done, one of the funniest series of the last few years.

Exceptional interpretation the whole cast is excellent, of course we can only be amazed by the interpretation of Kate Winslet, all in realism, finesse, she is just incredible, but the rest of the cast is also very very good, it makes a story of murder in a small American town, a scene all in all banal in an extraordinary series, smack of realism and with a magnificent set of actors, so far and undoubtedly the best series of 2021. Strange that HBO could produce a show as good and also produce a crap like The Nevers (one of the worst series of 2021 in my opinion) ...

The Underground Railroad (2021)

The pilot is exceptional then nothing

The pilot is incredible, (be careful very violent), very very hard , but taking with a magnificent photograph and great acting from all actors.

It's just after that it gets complicated. The story becomes quirky, not to say boring, and the actress' playfulness quickly gets on your nerves. For those who hoped for a historical fiction it was a failure, for those who wanted to see a science fiction show, it was also a failure. The series navigates between the 2 without really managing to captivate, far from it turns out quickly to a series of episodes a little ridiculous. Big disappointment to make a pilot so good and behind nothing ....

So badly play it hurts. Of an interesting idea we end up with a series more than average. the exterior sets and costumes are good but the special effects of the few city views are ridiculous. The few experienced actors could not hide the bad acting of the main roles. What a disappointment. Next time think about hiring real actors.
