The Girl Next Door (2007)
The MOST disturbing movie I've ever seen
There is no redeeming quality in this movie. The storyline is incredulous, although humans are capable of anything so I imagine this could happen in a truly, sick, twisted place.
The abuse suffered by the female lead and her sister is beyond anything I've seen in movies. The actions of Aunt Ruth, her sons and the neighborhood children are so vile and revolting they are so far outside the limits of even artistic license that the studio and producers should be censured.I believe it was made for the shock value only.
I would love to add spoilers so that maybe no one will view it and it can fade into oblivion where it belongs. However, even the process of of writing down the atrocities shown and implied is too disturbing.to permit me to proceed.
Reality Show (2015)
I can't believe I watched the whole thing.
This was one of the most depressing movies I've seen in a long time on so many different levels. First and foremost is that there are actually people in the "Arts and Entertainment" industry that would do the things that were done to the Warwick family.
Second, the degeneration of what was a relatively happy family into one that literally cannibalized itself. I honestly don't know if I felt worse watching good people go bad as a result of hidden issues or if the outside forces manipulating the events that led to the destruction of the Warwick family were without any moral or ethical boundaries. Frankly it made me ill.
This movie may be a prelude to what the "news" media is devolving into.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
This must be Thanksgiving, I just been served a turkey!
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is
1. Watching the stunningly beautiful Gal Gadot in action.
2. A new appreciation for Kristen Wiig
3. The very pleasant surprise at the end of the movie during the credits.
The movie is poorly written, poorly presented and a confused mass of dialogue and action sequences.
That's 2 hours and 31 minutes that I'll never get back.
This is what happens when studios look to cash in on a the initial success of a character/actor/actress without putting in any real effort into a good storyline. Fortunately, I watched it on HBOMax, so it only cost me pennies. If I was in a movie theater I would have asked for a refund.
If someone asked me if they should spend the money to watch WW84, I would have to quote Tony Soprano, "Don't do it. DO NOT DO IT!"
Satisfaction (2007)
One of the better series produced by Showtime.
Great story lines. Great acting. The women are easy on the eyes. I'm binge watching it on this rainy day.
It held my attention throughout the first season and I'm glad there's a second and third to come.
It's about time there was a Sex Worker story that wasn't just street pimps driving tricked out Bentlys or limos and their "Hoes" (a la Deuces on HBO).
Les amazones du temple d'or (1986)
Might be the worst movie ever made
How many natural blondes are found in the heart Africa? By the way Amazons are the imaginary race of women native to South America .he cliches are too numerous to mention.
Is it just me or did any one else find it strange the the girl that survived is running around in a loin cloth, when her mother's clothes were available? Also her outfit had three strategically placed animal tails to partially cover her breasts.
At 30 minutes into the movie I had to stop.
Dialogue and acting is sloppy.
The only positive aspect is that none of the women in the movie appear to be cosmetically enhanced.
