Casual Criminals (2022)
Totally engaging and fun. Many laughs
Paul Carr has done it again. His Casual Criminals ( in which he plays a crazy character himself) is a fun and unpredictable romp. My friends and I watched it together and had many laughs. The casting was perfect. Cudos to them! I would recommend this to anyone. It's a great escape of fun. Creator/director and actor Paul Carr is so inventive and one can never put him in a box. Watch for what he does next.
American Barbarian (2018)
LIKE A DARK COMEDY: FUNNY AND HORRIFIC
Intrigued by the film's trailer, I couldn't wait to see this film. What an imagination Paul Carr, the writer and director has! Like so many of us, Paul created a film portraying how many of us felt after the election of Donald Trump. Zoe Pike puts her character's emotions on screen in a realistic way. The sets and costumes and supporting cast are terrific! Truth and fun mix together in the dialogue and scene choices. This subject matter is still relevant today, in 2020!
Empire (2020)
GREAT ACTORS IN A TRIPPY SCENARIO WITH OUR OBSESSION WITH PLASTIC
This film grabbed my attention immediately. It is trippy with incredible visuals. Brilliant dialogue delivered expertly by the cast: Don Schroeder and Nick Leininger. I hung on excitedly to see how it all would end. The props chosen by the director and creator Paul Carr were clever and well chosen. This is almost a prediction of a certain future for all of us worldwide!
Busted City (2014)
In some ways, things haven't changed
Busted City rings true about the "83 mayoral election. The dialogue at the bar includes Chicago cops and others that discuss their thoughts on a black man winning the mayoral election. In many ways, it is relatable to today and the racism that still exists.
