NCIS (2003– )
1/10
Was excellent, now unwatchable
26 July 2023
Parker is awful. No replacement for Gibbs, just so wooden, unemotional and bland. Why would NCIS bring in a boss from the FBI? Ridiculous. Torres acts like a sulky teenager. Bishop is a great geek but unconvincing as a field agent, too pretty fluffy. Shame, a once great series bites the dust. Time to put it out of its misery and bury it. The character interplay has become formatted, the plots have got worse, too, almost like they're being written by AI. It just about survived the demise of DeNozzo, Ducky, Abbey, but without Gibbs and with the dreadful Parker, it's finished. Gibbs was the glue that held them all together, the dad figure, with depth, inner conflicts, demons. Parker is just flat. One acting mode only, from annoyed to angry.

Good artists but awful judges
11 January 2021
Just like the Portrait Artist of the year, Great watching the artists and seeing their different styles but oh dear, the judges really let it down, that affected portrait artist, Thai-Shan Shierenberg, whose paintings are all done in the style of Lucien Freud is awful, plus a curator and an art historian, same judges for the Portrait one. Agree with other reviewers, they always pick some posh Sloane type who speaks the same affected language and often some talented art graduates and artists are overlooked. Focuus too much on the clunky coarse style that Shierenberg uses in an obvious attempt to be "contemporary " but sadly behind the times by about 15 years now. New judges needed, perhaps some Art school professors and tutors and relevant artists, please. After first couple of series, got too predictable and irritating to watch, you knew which picture they'd pick before the end of the show.

We all want to be Captain Jack Sparrow
19 November 2020
Came over all piratical again after watching another awesome Pirates of the Caribbean movie, lets face it, we all really do want to be like Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp is just awesome an can carry any of this franchise single handed, even when other actors in it are a bit weak. Theres a rumour that he wont be in the next ones, though, so there will be no point in watching them.

Aquaman (2018)
1/10
Awful film
19 November 2020
Was really looking forward tooth's film as I love Aquaman in the comics and adore Jason Momoa, but had to leave about 20 minutes in, it was dross. Cant stand Amber Heard and would boycott the second anyway if she's in it. Wont even watch it on TV. Lying abuser doesn't deserve the limelight.

Love this show but agree with other reviewer, please go on talent, not pretty people, we watch it for the pottery. Find Sara Cox very patronising, love the experts, especially Keith

What have the people of Alderney got to hide
10 August 2020
This forensic archaeology team, who are world leaders in finding and giving back names and humanity to thousands who went missing. People of Alderney were unbelievably nasty and secretive. Their ghosts will never go away until these people are given back their names, identities and stories, and until they get a proper burial. With such narrow minded, hostile, cruel local people, I would never go there. They should be glad that someone wants to put that part of their history to rest. They have no compassion for the victims or their families. I hope they can excavate the mass graves there in time.
