Oh Boy....
2 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It wasn't what I thought..as I didn't watch a trailer just the brief synopses. And Oh Boy...

....this was hard to watch. Made me uncomfortable, angry, pissed, sad and just plain disgusted. To think that so much hate is out there like this and for what?? It's disturbing to watch..so be warned. I was really hoping that the ladies would have turned on each other to help the other women survive..but that didn't occur. The anger towards each other didn't last. It just shows how easily people can be convinced to carry out a crime. It only took one extremely crazed woman and because the others had hate to to awaken their evil side.

But that ending though.... I was put ready for it to be over.

And speaking of the women, those actresses did a great job in these roles. They do deserve kudos ..because they were all very convincing.

Not bad at all
22 March 2021
This movie was better than I thought it would be...in the beginning it was kind of slow but the last half of this movie was really good. It is worth the watch. Shia is good as usual...he has a good way of transforming himself to fit the role...and Bobby Soto...not so bad.

WiseGirls (2002)
Worth taking a look
25 October 2002
I will admit the title Wisegirls with Mariah Carey, I was not expecting very much. However, I was taken back with how I enjoyed the movie. Mariah did an amazing job with her character. I think she was more comfortable because she was not the solo star of this movie. I think this should have been released as her movie debut instead of Glitter. Anyway, Mira was great as always and I thought their was pretty good chemistry between the two. I only remember seeing Melora Waters in Boogie Nights and Magnolia, and she was very different in this film. I really enjoyed and I was actually moved when they got together on 7/11. I will be recommending this film to my friends and I am sure they will enjoy it as much as I did.

Hysterical Blindness (2002 TV Movie)

not that Hysterical
26 August 2002
The movie indicates that this movie was about three women looking for love in New Jersey. I was really looking forward to this movie based upon the clips and thought it was going to be great. How wrong was I...the only few good things about this movie were the songs from the 80's..and Juliette Lewis..and to see the always great Gena Rowland. I will admit that I am not a huge Uma Thurman fan and this just reminded me of why not..the over the top acting when not necessary. Her accent in this movie was nauseating let alone the very bad 80's hairstyle...her character was absolutely bothersome but then again maybe that is what the director was going for..I was hoping for more action but the movie just seemed to sort of go along without much spirit. Juliette Lewis, where have you been? She absolutely saved this movie from total boredom. The scene on the phone was hysterical ...but I will say when Umas' character was drunk at the final scene in the bar..was so embarrassing. I recommend this movie on a day when there is nothing else on...not much to anticipate but what a joy to see Juliette Lewis.

Thought Provoking
22 March 2002
I thought this movie was very realistic in the showing the way of how some people may have ended up on the street. The movie had the appeal of a documentary which I thought I was great and I almost forgot that these were characters and not actors. I recommend every one to see this movie and then maybe the will think twice before making distasteful comments on the homeless. This was an emotional provoking film where I felt sad, hopeful and angry as I watched this movie unfold. To the writers kudos for making such an hones film that depicts one of our own casualties of society.

VERY INTERESTING
18 June 2001
This was a interesting movie that had a terrific turn of events at the end. The movie seemed to create true to life account of an obsessive love and the downfall it can take when you have your "friends" knowing every detail. It was interesting to see how the tables turned with the obsession but that all the "players" were given only one account of the obsession...not the fact that the object of desire ( Liz ) was creating the drama and actually "got off" on it but in the end ..she learned that playing two ends against the middle doesn't pay off.
