Bet Your Life (2004 TV Movie)
1/10
Poor take on the Most Dangerous Game.
5 August 2004
This was the worst movie I have ever seen Billy Zane in. I understand that this movie was mainly to showcase the new comers, who did pretty good for newbies, but over all, the movie was not believable.

With all of the gunfire, you would think the police would have intervened. Even the coin being a bug on Sean was stupid. The way Sean suddenly realizes the coin is the bug, was not realistic.

Looks like this movie was slapped together fast. Poor job. Get a better writer.

The count down to the end was not in sync with anything. It took longer to fight. And what a coincidence that each time Billy was going to blast Sean, he'd be out of bullets. Once, I can believe, but not twice.

Actually, Billy's character was goofy. It was so stupid when Sean punches him out at the end. It was like a comedy. Bad! Bad! Bad!

Veritas: The Quest (2003–2004)
Indiana Jones with family and friends meets X-files.
11 February 2003
Relic hunter type shows like Veritas can be good. This one has some fair story lines, and seems to be getting better as it goes along, but the writers need to develope the characters more. The actors need to become their characters. They don't have any depths to their character.

Just like the last review, some of the events were laughable. The first episode, I actually found boring.

If this series expects to last even as a midseason replacement, the writing needs to be stronger and so do the characters.

I am all for giving new comers a chance. Since I've explained their weaknesses, lets hope the producers, writers and actors are listening.

Christmas Rush (2002 TV Movie)
5/10
Die Hard in a shopping mall.
2 December 2002
Dean Cain and Eric Roberts did a good job considering what they had to work with.

I really think that the writing was lame. Die Hard and its sequels are better. There were various changes in the beginning and the end, but for the most part I felt like I was watch a watered down version of Die Hard.

Dean Cain is a suspended cop who single handedly tries to rescue the hostages (Cain's wife among them) and stop Eric Roberts and his gang from robbing the local mall. Big thrill!
