Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
Loved the book, really liked the movie
The novel is rich with several stories and characters. A lot had to be cut for a 2 hour movie to work, and I think they made good choices. The focus here truly is Henry and Alex. Do I wish we could have gotten a limited series? Of course! But I am still very happy with what we got.
I do wish they could have let the president be divorced but I get why they did what they did.
The two main actors are good and I felt their love and the sexual tension. They made me root for them. I cried several times when I watched the movie, as I did when I read the book.
I will come back to this movie again and again.
Resident Evil (2022)
Promising first season
I had some problems with the first episode (it was way too easy for Jade and Billie to break into the Umbrella facility), but after that it was a really enjoyable ride. A great mix of drama, zombies and conspiracy.
The acting is great. Lance Reddick is insanely good, but I like the other leads as well.
Some of the twists were easy to figure out, but others took me by surprise (didn't expect Evelyn to shoot her son, I wonder if she will clone him if there is a second season).
I am a fan of the first three Resident Evil movies, but I have to say that the world building here is better. I hope there is a second season. And I hope they bring back Baxter, he was amazing!
Too bad about the ratings here at imdb. I doubt most of them have watched more than the first episodes. The show is number one in the world, so I hope it gets a second season. It deserves the chance. And I hope some of the naysayers give the show a new chance.
Lucifer: It Never Ends Well for the Chicken (2020)
Bores the viewer to sleep
The sort of episode that is probably a lot of fun for the cast and crew to make but is boring for the viewer. Has little to do with the overall storyline of the season and makes it hard to binge watch the season.
The cast seem to have a great time, but since it is so boring for the viewers they could have saved this for the season 5 wrap party.
Lost Girl: Raging Fae (2011)
One of the worst episodes
Bo has already dealt with her past in earlier episodes so her "growth" in this episode was not needed. It was more of a two steps back one step forward on her journey.
Where was the showrunner when they were developing this episode?
