The Voyeurs (2021)
Parallel universe
A look into a parallel universe in which Alfred Hitchcock is a lobotomized tween releasing feature films on tiktok. Would have given it one star except it stars the sexiest woman currently living.
Into the Dark: I'm Just F*cking with You (2019)
April fools!
A couple of April first jokes into it I realized I was watching on April fools day, and thought wouldn't it be fun if the last scene plunked us. It didn't, but I thought why can't some streamer platform (wouldn't work for theatres) release a movie on April 1 with a fake alt ending, then edit it out the next day, to give the audience first ever April fools experience in movie form.
General Orders No. 9 (2009)
A lot left unsaid
If one wants to argue that an agrarian society with a small town at it center is the soul lost of southern culture, that the indigenous trails of a self sufficient life give way to the utopia of Robert e. Lee's dream corrupted by industrialization and modernization, then there is a nuanced path to walk on that doesn't entail ignoring several huge elephants sitting on your back waving confederate flags. In the end, it is a pretty and shallow elegy poem for southerners and, apparently, porcelain figurine collectors.
