The Dark Knight (2008)
The best comic book film ever, and also my personal favourite film
This film is brilliant. Those who didn't have enough patience to watch past the first hour of Batman Begins will love this, and so will people who aren't too keen on superhero films, which leads to my first point; it doesn't feel like a comic book film.
That may be hard to believe if you have seen the Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, or the abysmal George Clooney versions of Batman. In those films the enemies were camp (yes, even Penguin. An army of penguins is absurd), but that isn't the case with Christopher Nolan's darker, much edgier impressions of Gotham City's Caped Crusader. His choice of Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne is a very good one indeed, as Bale brings life to the role, and actually makes the arrogant Bruce Wayne likable.
Michael Caine adds some comedy support, but not the kind that would ruin the atmosphere of the film. His witty remarks towards Bale's playboy are brilliant, and he makes us feel as if he is the father figure that Bruce once lost.
Replacing the wooden Katie Holmes is Maggie Gyllenhaal, who, whilst being underused, is good in the role of Rachel Dawes, and isn't just a piece of eye candy like Katie Holmes. And you can actually understand what she is saying (my sister had this problem with Batman Begins)! Aaron Eckhart (Thank You For Smoking) is convincing as District Attorney Harvey Dent, but, like Rachel Dawes, is criminally underused in the final act. His performance as Gotham's White Knight should have earned him a place in the inevitable third Batman film, but unfortunately that might not be the case.
Even though the acting of these four people is excellent and actually holds the audience's attention, there is one person who dies this without even trying. The late Heath Ledger's portrayal as the schizophrenic, brutal Joker is beyond words. He steals every scene he is in, and he does this by carrying out elaborate murders, clever bank robberies (the beginning of the film has the best bank robbery in any film I have ever seen) and fooling his supposed 'accomplices'. He isn't like your normal comic book villain. He is violent, witty, and despite being pure evil and having no trace of mercy in him, you can actually feel sorry for him. His trickery and deceit must have been from a past experience in the character's life, yet he never tells anyone in the film about it, even when he tells his victims why he got his scars he won't tell them the truth, as he tells them two completely different stories, but with the same conclusion. Heath Ledger deserves every award he is nominated for, and it is a pity that he left the world before he could show others his real potential.
Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) also makes a return, but I found his convincing American accent from the first film slips in some scenes, especially in the emotional scene with Harvey Dent in the last five minutes of the film. Apart from the accent problems, his performance is great, but not as noteworthy as Ledger's.
Now onto the film itself. There is treachery at every turn, with The Joker manipulating civil servants and civilians for his own means. Batman and Jim Gordon must get one step ahead of this clown, but it isn't as easy as it seems, as when they think they are making progress, it turns out that The joker is still one step ahead of them. The story even goes to Hong Kong, which is shot during the day, like a lot of the film. Gotham doesn't look as scummy as in the first film, and the film does benefit from this in ways.
I would go into more detail, and I might do so if i can be bothered to edit this. But hear this: it is intelligent, and will blow your mind more than a pistol ever will, excuse the pun. Just see this.
Biohazard 4 (2005)
Awesome in every way
I wasn't a massive resident evil fan when i got this game, as i was advised to by my friend, and i thank him for introducing me to this game series. resident evil 4, is without saying, one of the best games ever! You start off getting a lowdown of what happened in the other games, just in case you are new to the series, which i was. it then cuts to Leon S. Kennedy (from RE 2), somewhere in Europe, getting dropped off on the outskirts of a Spanish village in the middle of nowhere to find the President's kidnapped daughter, who will then turn out to be the annoying yet hot Ashley Graham. You go into a house to question the inhabitant about if they have seen her, and he attacks you with an axe. He is not your usual zombie...
From there, the game doesn't let you down. Sure, there may be a lot of scurrying around an ancient castle trying to find Ashley, but it feels rewarding when you do find her. New enemies, the Ganados, I actually find more creepy than the zombies, probably because they actually look more intimidating, and they are much more cunning. They don't just run at you and attack, they walk pretty slowly to try and get in on you if you are not aware of where they are. They may be easy to shoot at, but they travel in more numbers, so of course you are going to run out of ammo quickly.
The aiming on the Wii version (the version i have) is flawless, except for maybe the use of the knife. Sometimes, when you wave the wii remote, it'll do nothing, but at other times it will react just after you are staring a villager in the face! The characters in this game are excellent and likable. Leon is awesome and can be quite funny at times, even though some of his jokes are quite cheesy. Luis Sera (the mysterious spaniard) is really funny, and adds the needed humour into the game. The game's main enemy, Osmund Saddler, is excellent, even though you don't see him as much as i may have hoped. Some characters needed to be a bit more fleshed out, like Chief Mendez, who i thought kicked ass. He isn't in the game long unfortunately, and he makes the odd appearance just to try and strangle Leon. The Merchant, a mysterious character who you never find out much about, if awesome, probably because he supplies you with weapons. How does he get everything? The graphics, from a ps2 game, are stunning. the water elements looks brilliant, and flames look realistic.
This game is recommended for any resident evil fan. it may be changing a bit, but look how well it changes the face of the series. a better control scheme helped as well
Zeruda no densetsu: Kaze no takuto (2002)
I have at long last played it for more than 20 minutes, and it is...
...Very good. Not as good as Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, but it is unique in its own way. The cel-shade graphics are beautiful, and the characters are very expressive. The boss fights are challenging, and the story very interesting. The only bad thing is that you have to sail for way too long at times. But apart from that and trying to find good islands that you went to before and do not show up on your map afterwards, it is pretty close to flawless. The area is large, and there is a lot of things to do and you will want to go back to the islands again and again. Even though it is not as good as TP and OoT, it is better than I had expected.
Zeruda no densetsu: Mujura no kamen (2000)
Probably one of the only bad Legend of Zelda games.
i got the Legend of Zelda Promotional Disk in a competition, and the first game i played on the disk was Majora's mask, as it was the only one that i hadn't played. it was good to start with, until i realised that i had to play for about an hour until i could save, and i would go back in time anyway >:( It is a good game, but it just wasn't appealing to me. I thought it was bad, and the way that the game is basically timed is pretty annoying.
this is probably one of my least favourite LoZ games, but it is not as bad as the adventure of link, which i did not like one bit.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (2006)
Pretty good, but a lot like Gears of War
I played this game over my friend's house, and i only played from act 3 to the beginning of act 5, and it was pretty good. good graphics, challenging, but I thought it was pretty boring in parts.
You have some humans against you, which work for the Snow Pirates and NEVEC, and you have aliens called the Akrid. But what I thought was stupid was how the Akrid only attacked you, and not the NEVEC workers and the Snow Pirates. A lot of it reminded me of Gears of War (it was not as bloody as Gears of War, and more blood would have made it better), and the vehicles looked like miniatures of the Chrome Hounds vehicles. Some of the achievements are hard to get, like one which is to defeat a giant worm. To defeat this worm, you have to destroy these heat compartments on his sides, but if you take a long time to destroy them, another one will come, which can get extremely annoying.
If you are thinking of getting this game, I would rent it first. My mate said the multi-player is awesome, so if you are disappointed by the 1 player mode, try the multi-player.
Zeruda no densetsu Towairaito purinsesu (2006)
The best Zelda game ever. Heck, the best game ever!
This game is simply breathtaking. I don't know what drugs Gamespot were taking when they reviewed this (8.9 for the Gamecube!? WTF?) but do not listen to them about this game.
The graphics are amazing, and I actually feel sorry for Midna, who is annoyed by the people who put her into the Twilight World. There is a great story, and a lot of twists. The enemies can come in armies of twenty in some temples, and some are pretty hard to tackle (the ice giants blocking some of the doors in the Snowpeak Ruins are pretty difficult to disperse).
There is a lot to do, and it may take you a while, so get it.

Eragon (2006)
You can tell where the director got his ideas from
I went to see Eragon with my mates, and I was going in hoping that the reviews were wrong. Unluckily, they were right.
Eragon is a disappointment. The ideas have been used before (the princess stealing something from the king is a bit like Leia stealing the plans from Darth Vader in Star Wars), and the Razaaks look like Kroenen from Hellboy (notice the blades sticking out of their hands). Ed Speelers is not a very good actor, and I found him on the whole unconvincing. Jeremy Irons and Robert Carlyle were good, and so was John Malkovich (they should have had him in the film longer than about 5 minutes). Some of it is pretty predictable, like you can tell that Brom (a dragon rider, like Eragon who is a bit like Obi Wan in Star Wars, as he is a Jedi and is mentor to another Jedi, Luke) will die (like in Star Wars, Obi Wan dies to help Luke, and in this he dies to save Eragon).
Overall, go and see this if you want to waste time and money, but don't bother if you are looking for a good film.
Genie in the House (2006)
Unwatchable
I was bored one rainy Saturday, my friends were out, I had nothing to do, so I switched on Nickelodeon hoping something like Fairly Odd Parents or Spongebob was on. Instead, I had this crap thrown out at me.
The acting is poor, the script unfunny, and it was all very predictable. It is all British actors, but you don't get that sort of house in Britain! I have never seen a house like that in Britain, and it looks like it was Americans making this crap.
It has all been done before, and I can't believe that people actually like this. Kids will like this, but they will regret watching it in later life.
My advice: Make sure you stay well away from this shi t
Zeruda no densetsu: Toki no okarina (1998)
The best game I have ever played.
This game is absolutely flawless, full stop. There is a lot to do, like being a merchant, fisherman, saviour of the world, and collector. This is a pretty hard game, so don't expect to have completed it all a week after purchase. Because of this game, Nintendo are my favourite game company, Microsoft's XBox coming a close second.
I have found that this is hard to get for the N64, but I have found plenty of the special edition Wind Wakers, which have Ocarina of Time in the box as well.
If you still have an N64 and have found this game cheap, get it! 10/10
I only wish that Majora's Mask was like this, it was good but not great.
