Having read all the books my expectations are obviously unrealistic for any movie or tv show to met. That said, Peter Jackson did an amazing job capturing the spirit of the books and didn't race/gender swap needlessly which kills the atmosphere of a kingdom or region. While he left things out of the movies it was still very accurate. This show is not lord of the rings at all. It's a teenage girl drama written by Karen with a fresh new degree from Starbucks university. The video quality and production are top notch to fair, this can't save any show that has terrible content. Save your time and go back and enjoy LOTR Peter Jackson masterpiece.. or better yet read the books they are incredible!

I had this rated at 8 after the first two episodes. I thought it was very gritty and the violence was very real. The next few episodes after that are sooooooo boring and needless. The flash backs are terrible and not meaningful. His daughters, monologuing type delivery makes me want to drown her and stab out my ear drums.

Kevin smith, you need to stop... please for the love of god stop making content. Or at the very least only stick to your own garbage IPs. I love everyone saying this is for a "modern audience" well my daughter thought it was every bit as bad as I did. Do yourself a favor don't watch this trash. Watch Troll Hunter instead much better (at least the first season)

Well... having read the books this was a huge let down. The added female checkbox tag along was (Ana Armas) was completely unnecessary and added nothing. The changes took away from perhaps, time Ryan Gosling could of used to make his character a little deeper. The stunts were good, the effects are top notch but if you don't see it you aren't missing anything.
Like all movies made in the past 5 years (exception being Nobody) they all are "fast food" no more fine dining will ever come from Hollywoke again. Go back and watch Heat or the first James Bond with Daniel Craig.

The first 5 episodes of this show were amazing, very funny and clever. I loved the rivalry between Harry and kids... then like all modern shows, a bunch of feminist that got their degrees for Starbucks starting writing for the show and it went crashing down faster than Harry's ship.

Update: changes to one star, they kill master chief in the last episode. Honestly seems like a mercy killing. Hopefully fans will be put out of their misery and this show will get cancelled and everyone involved driven into drugs and homelessness
Yes, it's a solid 3 stars. It's not Halo which is a big deal since.. well it's supposed to be Halo. Dialogue appears to have been written by a three year old, or an ivy league grad, hard to tell. If you go in expecting a sci-fi TV movie special (better than Sharknado) you won't be disappointed.

Don't want to give to much away but very well done "creature" good acting for sure but the dialogue is we soooooooo drawn out and hard to sit through. Way to much self loathing; have a beer go to bed. Other than that good series. Should have been two episodes and it would have been perfect length for the material.

This is an entertaining show, however I find they are in a decline. The first season was the best. The dynamic of C.B. And Robin was more fun when he was a wreck and she was the anchor running the office in my opinion

Not sure why the negative reviews. First off, this is not a happy show. The acting is great and I really enjoyed the story. There are a few Karen's on here picking apart inaccuracies of people not being Norwegian or not wearing mittens but it's a movie and therefore fake.. Still the isolation and beautify scenery adds to the dread of the show. Dan Anderson (mega Dan after his awaking) is one of the best characters ever to grace a tv show.
