The Morning Show (2019)
Just bloody amazing
I started to watch episode one season one, I thought meh.... But I gave it a hard go! I binge watched season 1; by crikey it's brilliant, really cleverly written and directed. I can see why it is Emmy Winning!
Jenifer Anniston & Reese Witherspoon are superbly cast and play their characters so superbly that they are 100% believable. I must say that all cast members are brilliant and their acting is just natural and easy, the sets are awesome, the lighting, and camera work is sublime.
I have just started season two, it hits the floor running very fast, picking up just after season one left off.
I refuse to ever put spoilers, just to say if you want a drama that is full of American back stabbing and Steve Carrell, Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass as part of a stellar cast. Go for it.
The Diplomat (2023)
Superb
Decided to give this a go Friday Lunchtime and watched it from start to end.
It is great! Superb acting, script and the production and direction. I want to watch it again! I very rarely ever say that, I want season 2 NOW!!!!
If you want something to enjoy with a little bit of politics, but it really is more about the relationships within a country's foreign diplomacy & the country the diplomat are in US and the UK here with Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell (her husband)
The cast really are amazing I believed in them, I enjoyed their humour and human side, obviously they loved making this series and it really showed.
If you are looking for a great, top class series
.... Go for it.
Gold Rush: White Water (2018)
I'm an odd one out here "I love it"
It's a semi-scripted series, season 6 is great, they are Dustin's claims, he has bought them, he pays fir the equipment.
If the people around him didn't like it they would be out of there. Also they get paid by Discovery to appear! By crikey 4 or 5 months working hard getting many thousands per episode plus a % of any gold found... yeah Dustin must be upset by your reviews! He wins anyway!!! He gets some nice Gold, TV fees & repeats fees plus the world wide TV sales fees, then of course any appearance fees off season, any residuals like books, videos, T-shirts. Yeah Dustin and his team are crying in their champagne,
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Yes it's OK
I really want to like this so much, again as with Star Wars I was brought up on Star Trek, so each incarnation I have watched DS9 was my favourite.
So when Picard started I couldn't wait to watch it, a nice slow start from season 1, I'm on season 2 episode 7 and I'm losing the will to carry on.... It seems to be let's bring the cast of TNG back..... and sort of create a story around that no matter what it is.....
it seems a bit too contrived, though I'm sticking with it as Sir Patric is just an amazing actor and person and one of my country's finest actors.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
By Crikey he's done it again!
The Book of Bobba Fett by Jon Favreau has the same production values, the same awesome writing as The Mandalorian.
Jon has knocked it out of the park again, in nearing 60! I grew up on Star Wars, in fact my wife and I love Star Wars. Having a "spin off" filled me with dread... I thought ok give it a go, I can only be surprised... I was so delighted by The Mandalorian that I couldn't wait for Bobba Fett.
Let's just say "ohh my life" it's just brilliant, please Jon can we have more of both please? Mr Favrea you are a genius, my wife and I love your work, thank you.
The Ranch (2016)
Worth trying
I watched a few episodes and got into The Ranch, a great cast, witty writing & easy watching. I liked it because it has drama as well as just set up laughs.
Just wish there were more episodes, I understand some would not want to watch this as it has a modicum of deep story lines with no laughs for a long time.
Space Force (2020)
A cracking Cast
Thought I would give this a miss, I'm always cautious when I see a new comedy based on one main actor (DO NOT EVER WATCH BROKE!!)
Space Force is nearly Perfectly brilliant and well worth a binge.
The Middle (2009)
Was a cracking series
I lived this from season 1, it's a nice family comedy, nothing to embarrass the family in anyways with some awesome one liners, Brick is amazing but I think Neil Flynn steals the show in my mind.
Intelligence (2020)
So funny with a brilliant cast
I like Nick Mohammed I have enjoyed his Radio stuff, his bits I have seen on TV, but this is out there on its own, a seriously funny, brilliantly acted, written and produced.
If you want a new brilliant comedy, go for it.
Coroner (2019)
8 Episodes.... why only 8?
One of the best programmes from the USA to hit the UK in a while. I live the cast, the script, the feel.
It's awkward, it's jumpy, no one is perfect! I like it a lot,
I really hope there are more episodes coming please.
Hitler: The Rise of Evil (2003)
Robert Carlyle
This is one of the best mini series I have ever seen, Robert Carlyle's portrayal of Hitler through his early years into total madness is spellbinding! As the saying absolute power corrupts, it certainly did in Hitler mind.
I cannot rate this enough, the cast are amazing, it's a masterclass in all aspects of how things should be made. But Robert Carlyle to me just stands out as one of Britain's best actors.
To Sir, with Love (1967)
One of the most touching films ever made
This is a Stirling cast, Sidney Poitier leads it like cheaufer driving a Rolls Royce. No matter how many times I watch this film I cry.
If you have never seen this genuine classic film, please watch and enjoy, it is of its day 1967 but stands the test of time
