I really enjoyed this series. I thought kate winslet was great, i liked that her character wasn't this perfect badass detective that does everything right. However, there were so many unnecessary plot lines and characters. We spent a lot of time on mare's daughter's story but honestly none of it mattered. I thought the documentary she was making about her brother was going to be relevant but it wasn't. Mare watched a minute clip of her son on the beach and that's the end of it. Effective yes but i don't know why her daughters relationships mattered in the grand scheme of things. Just more characters and more storylines complicating things. I think it should've just tightened it up by making it a five or six episode series instead of including filler plot lines to pad it out. Still worth a watch though.

Mare of Easttown
(2021)
great series that would've been incredible if it was 5 or 6 episodes instead of 7

could've been a bigger bang

I felt like this episode didn't do the series justice. It could've been way bigger. I knew they were gonna do flashbacks and some cheesy stuff but not even a cameo from morgan, hotch or any of the other old members? What about reid and jj?? They swept that story line under the rug. Reid and max? Where was she? Nothing against the actress who played penelope but this episode focuses way too much on her and it should've been about everyone. It only tied her story off, not anyone else's really. Just disappointing. But the show needed to come to and end.
a real decline

I have been waiting for something to happen for a few episodes now. It doesn't feel like much has happened at all. It's felt like a few filler episodes in a row. Also that jake cannavale is a classic case of nepotism. Just because your daddy is a famous actor doesn't mean you should be too. He's trying so hard to act a cool smooth guy but it feels so forced. Same with gina carano. Some of the actors in this leave much to be desired.
i'm giving this episode a low rating, but for a different reason...

I know this is rated super low because of trump supporters, but that's not why i'm rating this episode low. i'm frustrated that they made schmidt a republican. paul ryan is an awful man (pro war, pro life, anti gay marriage etc) and it doesn't feel fitting to his character. just a strange plot.
my favourite episode of criminal minds yet?!

Aubrey plaza always is incredible in anything she's in, so this episode was a given. but WOW i wasn't expecting the little twists and turns. also the chemistry between matthew gray gubler and aubrey plaza was incredible. i hope they star in more things together
i knew it was coming, but im still emotional

I think this film couldve had so much more potential. heres a few ways that i personally think wouldve made it funnier and a better plot:
jays email at the start. i think it wouldve been funnier if jay was telling the truth actually. we know jay lies to make himself seem cool, but what if he actually had a mansion and was a famous dj? if the plot revolved around them living in jays mansion, but jay not being content because he missed jane, it wouldve made so much more sense imo.
lucy. why did she suddenly turn crazy? it made no sense and actually didnt add anything to the main plot.
will and this new girl. it was kind of lazy how they just introduced the blond girl as wills old school mate. i don't know i think it couldve been better, that whole story line. and what happened to the other girl??? did they even explain it or did i miss it?
overall, this film was still funny, but the entire plot made it difficult for me to enjoy it. just watch the first film then leave it at that
