Collar Bomb (2021)
Movie Sans Logic
There is no rhyme or reason in the plot of this film and some of the scenes have been shoddily shot. Terrible!
JL50 (2020)
Interesting!
I have given 10 stars but let me say the very outset that it is not a perfect series. You can tell from the very first scene when a shadow of an aeroplane passes over a ground that the series needs more money. But please don't give up, the idea is interesting, the actors really talented and I think this type of movie making needs to be seen, requires support. Do watch, you won't regret it.
The White Tiger (2021)
Brilliantly captures the essence of the book!
Having read the book a couple of years ago, I think the movie captures the essence of the book. If we take the book out of the picture, The White Tiger is a good movie in its own right. But I believe apart from Arvind Adiga's novel, it is also a far cry to Mohsin Hamid's stunning debut novel "Moth Smoke". Really loved the movie.
C U Soon (2020)
Innovative new way of Story telling!
Stunned by the sheer brilliance of the movie and its intrigue. This is the third Roshan Matthew movie I have watched this year and I am in awe.
The Luminaries (2020)
Binge Worthy!
I was stunned by the brillaince of this series. There is not a single note that seems amiss. Please don't listen to people who tell you it is confusing, they are just undermining and belittling your intelligence. The performances are impeccable, and I am sure you won't be unimpressed by the magic of this mini-series.
Capharnaüm (2018)
Stunningly Beautiful and intelligent!
This is like a breath of fresh air as it deals with a problem that pertains to the muslim world at large, one of overpopulation. This is ,probably, a because of lack of education amidst muslims and this overpopulation again promotes a lack of resources and a lack of opportunities. This is a movie which must be watched by muslims who think Islam prohibits family planning. Stunning watch!
Class of 83 (2020)
Rushed, too rushed!
On the golden rule of storytelling,"Show, don't tell", the film utterly fails. Moreover, the film promotes extrajudicial killings and such films are a threat to the idea of democracy.
Delhi Crime (2019)
Produced by Delhi Police
Great acting by almost all the actors but the series is monotonously one- sided. Raises some good questions though.
Ram Ke Naam (1992)
Stunning Movie!
A stunning movie that must be watched by everyone. It is a documentation of events that led to the demolition of Babri Masjid. Please watch this movie and decide for yourself.
Choked (2020)
An Intelligent Film
When I finished watching Asghar Farhadi's "A Separation", my friend asked me,"So, who took the money?" I had no idea. I had the watch the movie again. In "Choked", when Sushant throws money at Reddy's face, I was like," But where did he get this from?" There is an answer in the film, and a pretty straight-forward one. "Choked" may not be as intelligent a movie as "A Separation" but it an intelligent film nonetheless. I know this movie probably deserves 8 stars but I am giving it 10 because I know Bhakhts are going to come after this film.
Paatal Lok (2020)
Not a single thing is out of place, everything has layered meaning!
"Paatal Lok" is probably the best Indian Series you can watch. It sneaks into its plot everything that is wrong with India: caste-based violence, discrimination on the basis of religion, muslim lynchings by Cow vigilantes... and all this doesn't make its plot laboriously boring but adds to its edge-of-the-seat material. Much better than meandering "Sacred Games" and Amazon Prime does a better job than its previous best "Mirzapur".
