Skip it. Thin, forgettable characters, no one particularly well defined, ridiculously stupid dialogue, and lots and LOTS of teenage angst. The two lead guys are cute, but not particularly appealing or engaging, without much chemistry. After surviving the 1st season and struggling to develop interest in the 2nd we gave up about halfway through. Angsty teenagers pouting about how terrible their lives are at the elite private school they attend will only hold our interest for so long. That's the problem with centering a whole series around the drama of teenagers... it makes the kids who watch it think that the whole world is literally about THEM.
It's possible to do a coming-out drama for high schoolers that ISN'T all about their angst, and maybe even portrays them as part of the world/community. It's been done before. I wish they'd tried to do that here.

Note to HereTV!: a couple of hot guys and some awkwardly staged fight scenes does NOT make a "gay noir thriller". You need an actual plot, at least moderately engaging characters, and a screenwriter who can write human-sounding dialogue. Alas, this heavily-promoted "thriller" has none of those. As much as we might enjoy seeing Fabian Arnold running around shirtless and (very briefly) kissing another hunky guy, that doesn't make for an actual gay thriller. A thread-bare attempt at a plot, and bleak/fugly settings in the Southern California desert. Once again, 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. Thanks for nothing, HereTV.
I wasn't expecting high Art from this show, but some basic competency and realistic characters and dialogue would be nice. NO ONE in this series gets to say or portray anything relatable or humorous. The only really interesting/relatable characters that you actually want to learn more about are Marco's mom and Madolyn's chauffeur. Even Kim Cattrall can't sell this sad dreck.
We're supposed to believe that in NEW-F'ING-YORK CITY this androgynous dime-a-dozen twink kid is such a captivating influencer, gets hired to an executive assistant gig because of his abundant attitude and skills with eyeliner, while being pursued by cute geek designers and hot buff finance bros alike? Meanwhile ZANE PHILLIPS' character just stands around looking incredibly hot, with nothing to do but chase after his mom's approval? WTAF?!?!
It's nice to see Michael Hsu Rosen again, after the unceremonious cancellation of "Tiny Pretty Things"... Cute and talented guy, who can definitely dance. Sorry that he and Cattrall are so wasted in this silly show. It makes "Ugly Betty" and "Glee" look like Shakespeare.
The only reasons to even give this show 4 stars are the designer fashions that Kim Cattrall wears, and the spectacular face and body of Zane Phillips being featured in various states of undress from time to time.
