Strange World (1999–2002)
Looks promising...
16 February 2002
My parents and I saw an advertisement for this t.v. show on SciFi. I vaguely remembered it airing a few years ago on broadcast. They showed about two or three episodes, then shelved it. Apparently, SciFi is picking it up and making new episodes, or just airing the previously filmed ones. Either way, it is a very interesting show. I am also an avid fan of the X-Files, so I am very familiar with the content and the premise. If you like action, drama, and a little bit of the paranormal, tune in to SciFi on Friday nights at eight!

Not too bad for a t.v. movie
25 December 2001
As many avid Stephen King fans know, many of his stories have been butchered when they were made into films. Sometimes plots and characters get warped and it makes the movie less enjoyable. Good news in the Langoliers: there aren't any changes in the plot or in any characters, at least not that I noticed.

The acting, except for a few times, was commendable. Just to name some example, Bronson Pinchot did an excellent job portraying Craig Toomy, the serious, uptight businessman who ends up going insane. David Morse, who played Captain Engle and went on co-star with Tom Hanks in Stephen King's The Green Mile, also did an outstanding job.

The movie overall was good, except for some cheap special effects. The Langoliers themselves were absolutely laughable. The time rip was cool, but still a little cheap looking.

I give this a 4/5

It (1990)
Good, but still needing just a little bit more...

Maybe it's just because I'm 14, but I did not find this movie as scary as many people told me it was. Don't get me wrong: it's a very good movie, considering the fact that it was made for t.v. I would definitely recommend it. Some parts were kind of weak and I think that if it had been a feature film, it would have been better. Overall, "IT" was very good and this version followed the book version pretty well. Pennywise the clown was definitely terrifying, especially to people like me, who are already a little bit scared of clowns. Tim Curry did an excellent job, though some of the parts toward the end were a bit laughable. My parents thought some of the scenes with Pennywise were downright hilarious. For some of them, I have to agree. The actors who played the children and the adults were excellent as well. Kudos to the person who cast this movie. I would give this movie a 3.5/5
