Killer Soup (2024)
Almost missed out on 10/10
A brilliant storyline with gripping direction and a brilliant story telling, the only downside was it being stretched to 8 episodes. I was fully attentive for first 5 episodes but after that it was simply stretched and dragged unnecessarily. However this series was something I did enjoy overall and both Konkana and Manoj were brilliant in their roles. I hope to see them together in a similar dark comedy soon. Killer soup also lacked a clarification at the ending about the contents of the soup, I am still unclear, I hope there is a part 2 but with a more concrete and concise episodes. Manisha Koirala was the steal of this show.
The Swimmers (2022)
Beautiful movie about refugee crisis
In all honesty I wasn't expecting much from this movie, however I was completely amazed to see the brilliant storytelling, somewhat Majid Majidi style filmmaking but nevertheless beautiful.
I read some comments about Greek folks being offended by the representation of their country but then it just makes me laugh hard, these blinded privileged white members fail to acknowledge that there ARE such RUDE PEOPLE from their country who would literally hush refugees away like street dogs. Maybe you never had a chance to witness the harsh reality while living inside your comfortable boozy cocoon, go out and find out the truth before dismissing the whole movie based on your presumptions.
Footfairy (2020)
So who is the killer? Wasted 2 hrs on what exactly??
What a f waste of my time. This movie is super duper bad, and never ever ever create a thriller without a conclusion, it just turns a bad thriller movie into worse thriller movie!!!!!! Urghh.
Mai (2022)
What was it?!?!
It's super slow paced series, the characters are poorly written, there isn't any real connection created between the audience and the characters right from the start and it just looses it's track with time. This story could have been told a little differently as the subject does seem to have little potential and the overall narrative is weak.
Badhaai Do (2022)
Love is Love - And this movie captures it right!
A good script with the an equally good execution. Very real characters and it touches your heart. You can watch this movie with your parents and help them open up their minds against all the homophobia. Fear of the unknown in Indian societies and how same sex couples are judged and ridiculed for their feelings was very well captured. Overall entertaining movie that you will enjoy regardless of who you identify as :)

Urban Crime Patrol
Ridiculous movie, wasted my precious hours on this, the worst part is that I kept hoping that this will get better but nope, it only got worst with every passing minute!!!!!
Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein (2022)
Too lengthy with mediocre presentation
Sort of mix spaghetti using Anurag Basu and Ekta Kapoor as two main ingredients and output is mediocre nonsense!!!! There were so many scenes where the main lead actor appeared to be like a idiotic looser!
Don't Look Up (2021)
My kinda satire!! Loved it!
Netflux kept suggesting this movie but I remember ignoring it as it seemed like just another Uhmerican hollywood drama! But boy was I amazed!!
This movie surprised me and it was way above my very low expectations.
83 (2021)
The storytelling could have been better
I saw the trailer and had this feeling that this will be a good one especially as it attempts to bring back all the good nostalgic memories.
The movie started on a great note until the cricket matches begin and from there on it sort of losses the narrative. From there onwards it felt more like I was watching repeat telecast of the match and not an actual movie that is trying to communicate a story. I don't know why Deepika Padukone was even in the film. She had no role to play, it could have been anyone else and it wouldn't have really mattered. Ranveer Singh does a great job at imitating Kapil Dev but there isn't a real story in this movie to feature.
It felt like dramatic documentary to be honest and not a film. I mean look at Lagaan, there was a storyline, a purpose, conflict.
But 83 was like a televised documentary trying to recreate exact matches that led India to its first world cup victory.
The director could have used a more imagination to position the story around how India was viewed by rest of the world, our own people and how this transformed the value of brand India on a global platform. Instead it attempts so in bits and pieces yet fails to achieve that picture.
It's worth watching one time to relive memories but not something that you will remember a year later though the subject had the potential to be that film.
Busanhaeng (2016)
Overhyped
I don't get the hype.. It was a boring movie overall or maybe zombie is a concept i don't understand. Ending was the only gripping part of this movie. Rest all I just felt constantly bored.
Aranyak (2021)
Mind Blowing One!!
A really well made series, the story line is gripping, it holds your attention, the twist at the end was really nice surprise.
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because I feel it could have been shortened in 6 episodes. It was dragged a bit for additional two in the end.
The best part of the series was watching Raveena Tandon back on screen in a powerpacked performance. She was my center of attention for the entire 8 episodes. I hope she continues to work more in such amazing series in the years to come!
