Prey (2022)
Powerful, emotional and menacing
After the previous dumpster fire 'The Predator' I'm always skeptical every time there is a new Predator film on the horizon. I expected more, but what can you really ad to a story that takes place in the 1700's.
The scenery was beautiful and the way it was shot blended well with the story. The new Predator has it all. His appearance felt more like one of the bad bloods from Predators. Bigger, menacing, and scary with loads of new weapons. I got to admit that I'm kinda glad we didn't hear that jungle themed music from Silvestri. Sara Scachner did a great job with the music. It relies heavy on emotions that focuses on Naru trying to prove to her tribe that she can be a hunter.
The movie has its moments but in the end it doesn't seem to find a steady ground to hold on to. The girl tries really hard to impress the men but fails at doing so but when the Predator becomes hostile and tries to hunt them she quickly becomes this skilled warrior that clearly knows what she's doing. A bit odd, when the film focusses on how she want's to be a hunter and be accepted.
The movie works perfectly fine as a standalone film as well because it's so distant from the other movies that it doesn't need to follow the same formula from the previous ones.
Sadly, Nanu didn't make it to the chopper this time.
American Werewolves (2022)
Campfire Stories
This is probably the weakest doc Seth and his team has put out. Nothing but campfire stories that shows no kinda proof. I remember someone asking Seth about is there had any proof or evidence shown in the doc and he said yes. Been a huge fan since his Mothman doc but lately the production value is gone down.
The Silent Revolution of Truth (2007)
MEIER VS THE WORLD
I've been following Meier's story for 20+ years, and even though some of his videoclips looks fake you got to admit, if he faked it, it takes a great deal of time and knowledge to build and prepare those kind of videos.
Some of the stuff were pretty much debunked as fake like the dinosaur photo he took from one of the ships when he travelled back in time.
In the end, either you believe or you don't. But since the government is now preparing to release 1500 classified UFO documents to the public, it's just a matter of time before everyone turns their sceptic eye towards the truth.
Meier is the real deal!
On the Trail of UFOs: Dark Sky (2021)
Dark Sky felt more like Boring Sky
I've been following STM for a while since I saw The Mothman of Point Pleasant, and these guys have a lot of great stuff. Sadly this film shows nothing mind blowing and at times it feels like the film is all about Shannon LeGro and her journey of getting a good UFO story. There were moments I felt like I wanted to turn if off because everything was dragging on for too long. The interviews of people that had encounters felt simply boring.
But what really caught my attention was when they started talking about Woodrow Derenberger and his meeting with Indrid Cold. This is where the doc shines in my opinion. Something I think STM should aim there focus on. A case that really deserves more attention.
In the end, a decent UFO documentary but nothing i would watch again.
Robert (2015)
Terrible!
I always wondered when someone would actually make a movie based on Robert The Doll. Finally someone did it and is it any good? No! The movie is terrible. The movie is supposed to be based on the real story of Robert but it's not. If you're not aware of the real story you'll fast want to find out, and oh boy you'll disappointed finding out that they screwed up the story so bad. What they did was basically grabbing a story and try to make something on their own using small nods from the real one. First of all, The Otto's weren't British and never did they have a maid.
This is one of those movies you want to stay away from. You'll find the small documentary clips on Youtube scarier. I have no idea what the writer was thinking when he made this movie or wrote it. If i had a foot inside the film business i would give them my script i wrote about Robert 3 years ago. Keeping through to the origins.
