The Green Elephant is minimalist in terms of plot, but makes up for it in the strength of its performances. The whole film is an intimate snap shot into the depravity experienced by the main characters, and serves as a small scale character study. The lack of structure, although frustrating from a narrative stand point, serves to add to the nightmarish quality of the film. At times it feels like a found footage film, due to the rough, hand held camera work which gives the film a feeling of realism. Over all this film is worth a watch to anyone who is a fan of independent film.
