Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020)
Season 2
Interesting though not as exciting as season 1. The pace is a tad slow. It is refreshing to see the hot and handsome Abir Chatterjee. He has acted well too. But he does need to work on both his Hindi and English diction. Vijay Krishna is smart and eloquent. Overall likeable.
Aashram (2020)
Boooooooring
It is amazing how a director like Prakash Jha can destroy a web series in the lust for a fourth instalment. The third instalment is boring and illogical. Efforts to stretch the episodes like used chewing gum are obvious. There does not seem to be any story in mind. All that is in mind is that we must have a fourth instalment, no matter what.
Aarya (2020)
Let down from season 1
Where season 1 was a nail biting thriller, season 2 is a boring sob story. The story has no movement and no direction. It keeps moving in circles. I guess the makers felt that since they do not have substance they should fill with stretched sentiments and make it a tear jerker.
Chhapaak (2020)
Middling
Chhapaak ultimately turned out to be an ordinary movie based on the life of an extraordinary girl. The movie begins with promise, but then loses steam. Deepika actually does not show much variation in her role and in fact does not match up with Vikrant Massey who shines in a short but superb role. Their romance in the movie looks forced though. Also, the actual act of throwing the acid is perpetrated by a woman accomplice. This kind of diluted the anger one should feel towards Basheer Khan. The question arose as to whether one woman can do this to another even when she personally had no grudge against Malti. Somehow the movie did not strike a chord with me the way Meghna Gulzar's earlier movies Talvar and Raazi did.
