Vanishing Act (1986)
cool for when it came out...
Mike Farrell played B.J. Hunnicut on the television show M*A*S*H, and Elliot Gould played Trapper John in the movie!
The actors did a decent job - most likely knowing it was going to be a TV movie.. not that there's anything wrong with that. It was different, and if you watch it just to see Fred Gwynne, that'd be all right.
It's a "whodunnit?" like no other.. unless there are others like it!
I remember watching this when it first came out on television. I suppose that's why I like it. I'd also like to watch "The Washington Papers" also starring Eliott Gould. Mike Farrell definitely plays a different character then he did on M*A*S*H.
Out of Time (1988)
Maybe it was a "pilot" movie for a show..
It was run in 1988.. I recorded it! =Along with the Bud Cort t.v. movie ("Psycho 5"{?} )with Jason Bateman and Kistine(Kathrine?) Haji-from "Head of the Class"=
Adam Ant as the bad guy in this was great. The late Rebecca Schaeffer was awesome in this! (As she was on the show "My Sister Sam" with Pam Dawber) Bruce Abbott ("T.A.G:The Assassination Game") did a remarkable job.. as always! Bruce Maher.., actor? -Who knew? He was in "House II: the second story". If it was a movie for a TV show, it would have been great to see where they would have taken this. It may seem 'low tech' now, but at the time, it was pretty cool!
"If not for the heroics of one man, many lives would have been lost."
Grease 2 (1982)
No.., it isn't "GREASE".., it's "GREASE 2"
Yes, it does follow a similar storyline.., but then, so does every other movie that gets made. Instead of cars, they've gone on to motorcycles. I read they were going to do a series of movies, and then a t.v. show. Thank God they didn't! From 4 wheels to 2.. (cars to motorcycles) What would have been next? Unicycles? The music is enjoyable! The cast was wonderful.. (Even if Liz and Jean Sagal (cheerleader twins) weren't befriended by the rest of the cast. According to Lorna Luft, they (Liz & Jean) thought they should have had a bigger part in the movie.) It isn't bad! Of course, I liked it! I liked it a lot!
