1883: The Crossing (2022)
Zzzzzz.....
What a (yawn) snooze fest of an episode. Teenage angst combined with over dramatized writing. Two episodes at the same river and they have progressed about half a mile. There are some great actors in this show, but at this rate we'll be in season 5 before they reach their destination. For now, gonna give it the benefit of the doubt and tune in to the next episode, but if this trend continues, gonna watch Lonesome Dove for the umpteenth time in lieu of investing any more time in 1883.
Zone blanche (2017)
Season 1
Watch 2 episodes and if you like shows like Twin Peaks or Dark, you will watch the complete season. It continually creates more questions than answers while keeping you intrigued enough to yearn for the next episode.
I like the actors and the characters but have a hard time putting a true rating of their acting skills because of its "dubbed" status that doesn't allow for verbal inflection to come through the performance as it would if I could understand the actor's language.
The only downside is the writers do make the police seem rather simple too often to be effective in their profession. I have also read several reviews casting disparaging sentiment on the actions of the characters, but I don't agree, people living with the situation they are embroiled in do not act with the same level of reason ( again, think Twin Peaks) that a normal person would living a mundane life. And if they did, it wouldn't be much of a story now would it.
This is filmed like " Dark" and is foreign in my eyes as compared as to how Hollywood does things, but to me that is a plus, as I have found European series enthralling for the most part with how they are put together.
This show will not be for everyone, but for those that enjoy this genre, I would highly recommend you give it a shot if you like the other shows I referenced.
