Good Burger 2 (2023)

Great time, Great nostalgia!
23 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was honestly pretty great! I had plenty of laughs throughout. I was born in 88 so I was a kid when the original came out and I must had watched that bright orange VHS tape over 100 times. I absolutely love the original. I had my daughter (7yrs old) watch the original with me getting ready for the release of Good Burger 2 and she enjoyed both as well.

The story was well enough for this type of buddy comedy to enjoy. The first 30 mins or so brought on a bunch of throw backs from the original (which was to be expected). They brought the main villain into the story a little late. I feel like she almost seemed a little like an after thought. But she had some funny moments so it was fine. Overall, the story was pretty similar to the first. Only instead of it being another burger chain, an evil corporation buys out Good Burger and takes over. Wasn't a bad idea. But did feel a little similar to the first in some ways.

The acting from Dexter and Edd were both pretty spot on. Didn't feel like they really missed a beat. There were a few lines from Edd that I feel, made him out to be a little too dumb. Like, the first GB Edd was believably dumb in a silly way. A few times in GB2 Edd was just way too dumb in a cringy way that wasn't funny. But it was only a few so it didn't ruin the character. For the most part he was pretty spot on.

Bring in Edds kids was great. His son was exactly like him. Perfectly cast for his character. The other new employees all felt fun and silly in their own ways. Overall, nobody felt out of place (except the "main" villain character. I forget her name. But she was still fine.

I conclusion, if you go in expecting a fun blast of Good Burger nostalgia that doesn't take anything too seriously, you should be pleased.

Blown away!

I don't understand the negative reviews. I was hooked from start to finish. Every action scene felt like the finale. They were huge set pieces with edge of your seat stunts. The "Creatures" were super intense and well thought up. The acting was great and believable. Overall there was litteraly nothing I could complain about with this movie. Solid A+.

Not Horror. Lies.

Warning: Spoilers
"So scary people can't sleep at night." Thats the biggest lie any show has ever claimed. Hill House, absolutely scary. Bly Manor, love story. Would have been more stars if they didn't painfully pull a fast one on everyone.

Adrenaline rush!

Stacked to the brim with crazy action. The acting is hit and miss. The female lead hit a little too close to that of F&F only she was tolerable to watch unlike Rodriguez. The effects were top notch. Nothing really to complain about. Solid action flick with the expected Vin Diesel blast of over the top fantasy.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm towards the end of the first episode and I can't tell if this is scripted or not. Like, there's a guy who apparently never uses social media but knows to say @ and the persons name he's referring to (among other things). But idk, it's entertaining none the less.

Blown Away!!

Everyone nit picks about eeeeverything these days it's obnoxious. This movie is Michael Bay. Absolutely insane action and a good enough plot to back it up. If you can't keep up with the action then it's you, not the movie. Plus it's Ryan Reynolds at his best. Enough said.
