The animation took some getting used to but I quickly grew to love it. It's a unique, creative and relatable show where Haddish and Wong have great chemistry.

Sadly, I've heard it's been canceled. Netflix made a mistake with that move.

I Don't Even Know What to Say

I'm speechless but I'll try to express myself as best as I can.

My jaw was ajar from beginning to end. I'm a huge art enthusiast and yes, the visuals are that damn breathtaking. Every single shot in this film was beautiful.

Her narration is soothing - her singing affective and elegant. The message is GREAT and boldly illustrates the beauty of the Black diaspora. The storyline is both nuanced and introspective. And she is just drop-dead gorgeous. Sometimes I had to rewind because I kept staring at her and missing things. Everyone who worked on this project deserves an Oscar.

Bravo Beyoncé. It's unbelievable how talented you are.

P.S. There are many negative reviews/ratings because of racism, misogynoir and envy. Ignore them. Because my thing is, how can you hate from outside the club? You can't even get in! :)

This show doesn't make you laugh every. single. second. but it's still a great show with loads of laughs. The storyline is dynamic and advanced faster than I initially thought it would. Some would probably have to watch a second time around to really appreciate the jokes.

The production is amazing! The sets, costumes, talent, writing...high quality but not over the top. The show's concept itself is innovative.

My one critique is that some of the events that transpired towards the end of the last episode were a little far fetched. I don't want to reveal any spoilers but you'll know what I'm talking about once you watch.

I am politically independent, a person of color and very educated (I mean that objectively, not condescendingly) and it seems to frame society from an angle I can relate to. So if *you* can relate to *that*, you just may enjoy this series!

Anxious for season 2!

This Is Totally a Soap Opera

Honestly, I can't figure out if it's:
  • so bad, that it's hilarious
OR
  • if it's hilarious bc it's so bad

If you enjoyed watching "stories" with your grandma as a child, you will enjoy this show in a weirdly sadistic type of way.

Beautifully Done

Ashton Sanders is mysterious, brooding and complex, similar to his role in Moonlight.

Very disappointing to see reviewers reduce this beautifully done film down to a "hood movie".

If you simply appreciate good art, you'll savor every minute. Not for the squeamish. Not for those who do not like thinking while watching movies. Not for those who embrace prejudices.

The Age Thing is Killing Me

Would've given this series a higher rating but the dad looks older than his mom??? (The kids' grandmother) Like...I just can't get over that. Cast better!!! Little blips like this drive me crazy. Overall, the series is watchable. It's like Spy Kids meets Men In Black.
