Boss Level (2020)
Groundhog...SLAY
Not bad.
I was concerned by rather basic seeming elements at the start, but here and there it shows a decent quality of writing and heart.
I am glad Frank Grillo has made more interesting, well made and entertaining fare than...his involvement in films that are Cosmic Sin(s).
Mel Gibson is quite fun as his character - who is this upstart young actor anyway? I hope to see more of him (JOKE) ...but I do want to see more Mel.
Fun, decently well choreographed fight scenes, a fun supporting cast.
Not quite a generic action film.
I hope Ken Jeong didn't miss any possible Community Movie input due to his being in this.
Mulligan (2023)
Hmmm, promising perhaps.
I had some initial concerns starting to watch it regarding the pace, animation and tones.
I think it's grown on me a bit as it has interesting tone and pacing, and the animations alright.
It has...something to say, I'm not always sure I know what that is, or how much that really matters.
It's made me chuckle a bit here and there.
It does seems a little familiar to Inside Job, and reminds me of Idiocracy for a few reasons.
Not bad, I hope it find its legs and audience. I wonder how it will do and develop.
It's cute.
(oh, about seventy more characters needed for my review? Whatever will I write to make up that number...I wonder...?)
Spree (2020)
The Need for Spree....D?
Not bad.
A fun and eventually overwhelming invitation into the world of toxic digital popularity.
Joe Keery is a lot of fun as an innocent, toxic and deranged fellow.
Amen.
