Squid Game: The Challenge (2023)
It is so US style ..
I understand it is based on the series concept. However, I don't know who made the casting, the participants are simply awful: unlikeable and irritating,. I understand there is a particular personality type to be a part of this show, but they're just simply unbelievable and annoying. I blame it on the US portrayal, all whoohoo emotional building of the tention etc. Maybe it is fault of the edit. Korean way makes you sit on the edge just because it is so so reserved.
Netflix has money to make the show visually plausible but I wanted a some kind of twist. These cheering, screaming, whoohoo type of attitude ruined the show for me.
Ahsoka (2023)
Too Disney vanilla
Something is very very off with this series. From the first sight all looks ok, cast is good, great music, special effects, but the acting is ..meh, I got bored immediately, the action is there but is it lacking emotions and drama. My biggest objections are against the three main female characters. On the pictues they look great, but I don't feel the "Star Wars magic" in them. I used to be a great Star Wars fan and as much potential Ahsoka had, it is already ruined for me. Every actor plays with the same poker face. I had to come back to each scene couple of times because my brained keep switching off and believe me I don't have adhd or any attention focus disorder.
Next in Fashion (2020)
Season 2 :(
I enjoyed watching the first season. However in the season 2, Gigi Hadid's voice is so annoying. I cannot stand her and the way she expresses herself. "What is your inspo, obvs" etc. And all the abreviations brings me cringe. Beautiful to watch, hard to listen. The next thing that could go better was the eliminations. The judges were very well selected and some icons from the fashion world. However,Judging and all the decisions who go home - well controversial at least. I quit watching after the forth episode. I understand that Netflix has a high production budget but it can spend it so much better!
Babylon (2022)
Felt like scrolling through TikTok
I really want to understand what the producers thought. Who is the audience? It seems like another movie made for Hollywood bubble by Hollywood bubble. Actually It was not a movie -It was a mix of random scenes. 90% of them were pointless aka snake scene (WTF?) Définition of cringe with Jokes that don't land well but made embarrassed anyone who is slightly intelligent.
There are No developed characters. No true motives no dilemmas. I have never seen so many people walking off ever, half way through I wanted to leave as well but hoped at least for a surprising ending - nope, the ending and the connection to the " cinema paradiso " was cliché and laughable. In a certain moment I thought it was badly done on purpose as they wanted to do it as in 30s. Like Ed Wood movie. That would be cool, but again such a disappointment
One very dramatic scene with Brad Pitt was so predictable, people at the audience laughed out loud they couldn't stand how ridiculous it was and how predictable.
I had high hopes, left disappointed and with 3h of my life wasted.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
I would give 0 if I could
I feel disappointed and disrespected .
Do the producers don't believe that the audience has a bit of the intelligence.
It is simply stupid. Ok, the visual effects, scenography and costumes are nice but all the rest is simply unwatchable.
Casting is simply wrong.
The main character, she plays flat, there are even memes on the internet how flat she plays. Like a dummy.
The moment when she falls to the water (first of all it is really visible that she throws herself in) I rolled my eyes! And the creepy scene on a horse, cringe cringe and once again cringe!!!!!!
Don't believe the positive comments - they are HBO hired bots.
House of the Dragon (2022)
I have wasted 5h of my life
Every week I kept giving it a chance. Not any more. I have watched 5 episodes so far.
1. Actors play flat (except Martin Smith) emotionlessly, main characters are unlikable, very bad casting!
2. No plot, what is it about? It is all bla bla bla..no essence
3. Don't get me started on actress playing the future queen. She has one face all the time: happy, sad, stressed, she is a walking meme.
4. I really miss the spice, the wow effect that was in every single episode of Game of thrones, that make you wonder what happens next, this undefined tension they created in the end of each episode. You won't find it here.
Don't waste your time as I did.
The Crown (2016)
Visually appealing, it made me despise the royal family though
Acting is really really good. I love Olivia Colman especially..but I guess it is so well played and pictured that I have lost all my respect to the Queen, her husband etc. Their habits, attitude are absolutely disgraceful. I believe all people are equal and being born in certain family should not give anyone privileges. For me hard to watch (especially hunting scenes which I despise as well) but I got hooked v
It just shows an ignorant, sad family who didn't earn its wealth. A family which lives by ridiculous standards in a very very narrow minded world of protocols and absurd traditions..call me a hippie, call me an anarchist, I don't care
