Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
What a truly awful end to a great saga.
The first 20 mins was watchable, albeit too much bad CGI - at night - to try and avoid detection! Does the film editor not watch the film first, even young children can tell the CGI is badly done, anyway...
After that! The plot makes no sense, what was the Spear for again? It was fake, so where was the real one! Did it matter? Was it a MacGuffin? Then to try and introduce things into events that have already happened, like a horse chase during the Apollo 11 astronauts parade! I think that would have been documented. And the end! Please God do not let PW-B act or interfere with any films ever again.
The Old Man (2022)
Great Promise - didn't deliver
Great start hooked me in from the first episode and was okay until around episode 5, then it just got bogged down in double talk, very little action.
I stopped watching it after episode 6, I didn't know then there was only going to be 7 episodes. It could have been one of the greatest TV series, but instead in got caught up in ridiculous dialogue and long knowing looks, like episodes of Falcon Crest.
Death Hunt (2022)
Remake of Open Season (1974)
Seems to be a remake of Open Season (1974) with Peter Fonda, John Phillip Law, William Holden and Cornelia Sharpe and not the.1981 Death Hunt with Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin and Apollo Creed!
Minder: Get Daley (1984)
In answer to larrydearing
Under the two-tier National Health Scheme, your National Insurance will pay for most general operations, but to get preferential treatment you need to have your own private health insurance, which Arthur claims he has, so he would have had his appointment moved forward ahead of any National Insurance patients, had a private room, a choice of meals, own TV, etc. But, as with most insurance, you normally need to have had the policy for awhile before claming, and this was clearly not the case. Also note the conversation Arthur has with the other patient about his "Chalfonts". Priceless...
AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem (2007)
Cost Cutting with AVPR
As another contributor said this is a truly bad film, but a good movie.
Maybe it's me but did anyone else notice the dialogue during the slaughter of the National Guardsmen. It was exactly like the sound track from Aliens when the Marines meet the Aliens under the Cooling Towers, almost too alike! Also a lot of background and pacing sound seemed to be copied from Predator "jungle" scenes.
To me it seemed like the film was made by two fans. Although they may have had the best intentions and a shed load of money, they forgot some of the basics of film making.
Not one to see in the cinema or hire on DVD. Wait until it is remaindered on DVD in six months and you can pick it up for UK£3.
