Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card-hen (2018)
An amazing series.
I took a but of a closer look at this dub so I'll be honest.
I's awesome!
While Natalie Hoover's a good choice for Tomoyo. She sounds whispery and quiet for her, and her high-pitched range fits her energetic mood to film Sakura . Jason Lebricht is very ill-fitting as Syoarin. I really like Monica Rial as Sakura. We know that she can pull off cute voices.
All in all I'd say the Tsubasa VAs are what are pleasant. I'd saying it was a good move on Funimation's part to go with reprisals from the Reserve Chronicle. All in all it's a 9/10 dub.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (2010)
The game that started it all!
This may be controversial for me to proclaim for those who don't know of this game, but... I think I love this game immeasurably. When simplified, it's explained as "High school prodigies are trapped in a school known as Hope's Peak Academy and are forced to murder each other by a mechanical bear controlled by someone full of despair", which is interesting. However, anyone who is hearing about Trigger Happy Havoc for once in their life would disregard the idea of viewing it for the levels of abnormality in the explanation itself.
What they really need to do is just test the game out from beginning to end by themselves, analyzing the differing details and traits, and understand that the game itself is actually something simultaneously complex, strategic, strong, and beautiful, tainted with the idea of child murder. Japan might as well have this as their holy grail.
New Danganronpa V3: Minna no Koroshiai Shingakki (2017)
Previous engliish Danganronpa VA's come together
While I think the two main game's atmospheres was better, I do have to say this one is pretty awesome as well. But the despair the characters experience at the final part of the game was and felt realistic. because of what we learn near the end of the game and franchise itself. The "twist" of the game is rather deranged and twisted when you learn the details of it. SO many theories on what this game and characters REALLY are, and I absolutely love the "Beautiful Lie" track and it's other variations. I liked how the ending left the fates of the three survivors to enter our world to have a new fresh start on their new lives. They ALL deserved better except for the one that used their for their twisted pleasure. The Monokubs deserve better parents, because Monokuma is a HORRIBLE PARENT by the time Chapter 4 nearly ended.
Because of what happened to Monophanie and Monotaro......😨that was a true Nightamre fuel.....😨
The English dub in particular was awesome, and definitely more consistent than DR1's was. And way MORE intense than DR2. Grant George received a lot of appreciation for sounding intriguing, calm, realistically emotional, and VERY serious as Shuichi, (his more notable role than Leon Kuwata) Angie's VA was pretty fun and cheery as the Ultimate Artist and Natalie Hoover NAILED Monophanie with a surprisingly high pitched, cute, sexy, titillating, and a VERY SQUEAKY voice almost like a mouse😘 That really fits the pink monokub's personality 😘. Monokuma's VA also sounded noticeable different as Monosuke when he's not voicing with that Mickey-like range, Erica Mendez gave Maki a very cold tone like made her a more like-able dynamic character since Chapter 3, I could go on but yeah.
Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (2012)
Amazing cast of VA
While I think the first game's atmosphere was better, I do have to say this one is pretty great as well. But less deadly because of what we learn at the end of our classmates but sadly... not Chiaki. The "twist" of the game (while it's fairly obvious to guess) is rather intriguing when you learn the exact details of it, and I absolutely love the "Beautiful Ruin" track and it's other variations. I liked how the ending left the fates of certain members of the cast ambiguous too.
The English dub in particular was awesome, and definitely more consistent than DR1's was. Bryce Papenbrook sounded so intriguing and hot as Nagito, (who's an awesome, morally gray version of Makoto's "Hope" character IMO) Julie Ann Taylor was pretty fun as Ibuki, and Derek Stephen Prince NAILED Fuyuhiko. Natalie Hoover made Sonia sound like an amazing role model, Chiaki's VA made the ultimate gamer sound like such a gentle soul, and I could go on but yeah.
