Ghost Doctor (2022)
Good bromance, bad female lead
The story of this K-drama is well developed, despite being dramatic every second of it. Everybody cries and everybody fights. The bromance between the two male actors is well portrayed. They are very good actors. But the female lead... she is soulless. When she calls to her American peers you can barely listen to what she is saying (so soft spoken maybe shy to speak in English?). That voice tone is not good for the character since it was supposed she studied a medical degree in the USA...so, not good acting). The connection between the couple is not there. He is more expressive and intense, but she is like absent.
Matt Rife: Natural Selection (2023)
Very disappointed, he needs to go back to improvise with public
I was expecting this Netflix comedy special with great anticipation because I find hilarious Matt's performances posted on socials. His posts are from performances for small audiences where he picks themes based on his public's suggestions, he talks to people and his conversations are super funny. His style is making fun of things that current comedians cannot do anymore because of a risk of being cancelled. But the show he presented on Netflix wasn't good.
Not too much surprise about the offensive subjects he chose to talk about because that's kind of his signature, even though he chose bad this time. The point is he wasn't funny. I watched the whole show and I ended up frowning and turning off the TV. My conclusion is he is good interacting with people and improvising. He is not good writing material. Not good at all.
Byeol-e-seo on geu-dae (2013)
I adored this series
How can I imagine that I ended up rooting and crying for an "alien" love? This series is fantastic. Very well acted, funny, entertaining, cute. I cannot recommend it enough! The leading roles are captivating, but all the casting in general is perfect. I understand now the hype for Kim Soo-Hyun since this series was out. I ended up watching this series after enjoying twice "It's Ok to not be Ok", which is also amazing!
Doshinamnyeoui Sarangbeob (2020)
Beautiful, fun series
I just binged watched this series and I'm delighted. This is not the typical Korean drama. It's fresh, modern and with real love stories. The acting is great, specially the male lead making you feel all sort of emotions from joy to sadness and rage. It's was like watching a documentary of his real life. What a trip!
The 6 main characters are fantastic and well acted. You can identify with their stories. The cinematography is astounding. So beautiful sceneries that make you want to visit Korea.
I can't recommend enough this series. A must watch!
