Seriously

I just found this and watched several episodes of season 14. Hoping I would find another, "At the Movies." No, of course not. Episode after episode of a group of boring white men with no imagination giving banal reviews and gibbering nonsense. These men must have the IQ of 70, or lower, I would rather listen a Forest Gump giving a review because they do not discuss character analysis, synchronicity, how the plot relates to different levels of story telling form different angles of society. They are think as mud.. This would be like a terrible date with a dull dude whom I would never want to see again. Get some females on there and some men with some depth to them!

Blonde (2022)

It is art and I appreciate the artist vision.

'Blonde' is supposed to leave you shaking," Dominik said. "Like an orphaned rhesus monkey in the snow. It's a howl of pain or rage." He hit his mark. I think if people read the book they could better relate to the film. When I read the book, seven years ago, I had to keep reminding myself it was "based on Norma Jean," because when I read the book, I was reading about an actress's journey and was detached from "Marilyn." When you watch the film, her image is there and not so easily separated and people still want to project the Marilyn image or their "idea" of her and I think it is very hard for people to see their "ideal imagine," being shown as something very different, it causes a psychic deconstruction and they have to hold two imagines in their mind, and they cannot tolerate their "imagine" being shown as something different and must violently reject it and attack the creator. Even though we are told it is fiction based on... It watches like a beautiful sad horror story. I would have gave it a 10, but I did not appreciate the Cass/Edward interplay, otherwise a remarkable film.

I learned a lot... Thank you.

Should be required viewing. Those with an open minded and the capacity for empathy will benefit from it. Angry narrow minded individuals... will keep on thinking the way they do. Signed...disappointed white person.

Boiling Point (I) (2021)

One of the best from 2021

Wow, you felt like you were there. The filming was amazing. Stephen Graham has got to be the most talented actor who gets the least recognition. Every time I watch him I enter his characters world. He and Barantini are a matchmade in, I would say heaven, but this film is not about heaven, but a "boiler" hell; with the most realistic cast... you live this moment with them!

Worst movie ever

Suicide Squad 2, was the biggest movie disappoint of my life thus far.... do not recommend it!!! A demented Sponge Bob, on a violent acid trip, with very poor writing. I risked Covid for that crap, I want my money back!!!!!!!

The Watch (2020–2021)

Not familiar with the books
6 January 2021
I have only read 2 TP novels and watched "Hogsfather," and "The Colour of Magic." I was not a fan of the first episode (I would rate it a 4) it was jumbled and "a lot" happening at once. I enjoyed episode 2 (I would rate it an 8). The pace slowed, more character development and a wee bit of humor. I can see the direction we are heading. As for the PC overtones and agenda pushing, that lots of the reviews complain about, I did not see that or offended by it (but maybe that is because I am unfamiliar with the book series). Maybe this is one for those best watched without an attachment to the DiscWorld. I can only imagine what it would feel like if someone "screwed" over The Lord of the Ring trilogy. If the rest of the series is like episode 2 I think I will enjoy it as light hearted fantasy/SyFi.

Something wicked this way comes...

Two episodes in and it has been a thrill ride. The story telling is wild and bizarre, with some blood curdling scenes that have me covering my facing and watching it from between my fingers (it's been years since I have done that). During the first episode I found myself becoming angry at some of the characters for being dumb, and possessing terrible judgment. However, I also found myself so involved with them and the story I was yelling at them like I did when I watch Halloween for the first time, at age 13. Yeah... that kind of... RUNNNNNN!!! It has been nice that something has provoked these type of emotions in a jaded old woman. I'm excited to continue the series and sure I will be watching some of it peaking between my fingers.

A good change from sickly sweet.
13 December 2020
I watched this years ago and forgot the title. However it was one that stuck with me and although obscure, I found it again. If fairy tales awaken your inner child or a since of magic then this is a good bet. You will not find the high Hollywood budget, but a sweet story that is different the the run of the mill, saccharine you will get from Hallmark.
