That '70s Show: The Keg (1998)
Season 1, Episode 6

Wonder why...
3 June 2006
I wonder why in future episodes of "That 70's Show", did they have Brooke Shields play the part of Jackie Burkhart's mother when in this earlier episode, they had Eve Plumb play her even though all she really had was a cameo, when she walked to the back of the house she was selling with the prospective buyers only to find Jackie and all the youth from Point Place, at the bottom of the empty swimming pool having their kegger party. Not that Brooke Shields isn't a great actress but it was so inconsistent and I know... it's not "reality" TV but I like consistent character actors. Besides the show already had one younger looking beautiful mom (Midge, played by Tanya Roberts), so I guess what I'm saying is, Eve Plumb would have made a more believable "mom" character than Brooke Shields.

Sure would like to see it again!

This is another show I remember from my youth. I would have been first, second, third grade when it was on.

Saturday evenings, early, around five or six p.m. and again I don't remember the net work it was on.

I didn't realize at that time, it was Tom Bosley who did the father's voice. Of course I remember his best as Howard Cunningham in another 70's series, Happy Days.

I can't seem to explain it with the right words, but... if I had to define the era (early seventies) to a new generation, I would do it with this TV show! I also appreciated that the daughter, although she was heavy set and wore glasses - which by some standards of the time and sadly, still exist today - had a boyfriend!!

Vague memories but enjoyable memories

Warning: Spoilers
I can remember this TV show, my memories are vague because I was very small (7 or 8 years of age) but I do remember it being on TV.

I believe it was on Saturday evenings, although I do not remember which network. My mother and/or dad must have watched it.

I recall the beginning "Roll Out" with a tire from the jeep "rolling by" with a photo of the actor and their name beneath it!

And I do remember it being funny and clean! That's the problem with today's television shows, too many of them, even comedies, are not suitable for small children! My dad served in WWII and it was just a show about a couple young men serving in the armed forces, and their daily antics. It wasn't sexual, raunchy, full of cuss words, etc. so it was suitable for viewers of all ages!
