Actually kind of funny.

I understand why this received poor reviews, but it's a case of poor marketing. It's just a comedy. Not the funniest movie I have ever seen, but it was genuinely funny, and the ending was very well chosen. Sandra Bullock renders Mary extremely likable-I would love to have her as a friend, if not to be her. Glad I found this one.

Unexpectedly great

Like all Christmas movies, it's a little corny. Someone was reading Hemingway when they were writing the script. Anyway, it was nevertheless a great performance from all involved and it was way better than most Christmas movies out there. Definitely worth watching.

Superb.

I am usually pretty critical of Russian productions surrounding the Soviet and Revolutionary era-all of them are kind of wrapped in a nostalgic haze, for which all aspects of production seriously suffer. But this is a work of art: excellent acting, gorgeous music, beautiful cinematography.... I am so impressed and grateful that I have the opportunity to watch this. Well done.
