Narcos: The Kingpin Strategy (2017)
Best way to tell viewers the real seasons are over
Too much sexual content.
I appreciate they're showing us how one of the narcos was a homosexual but the amount of explicit content was excessive.
Also I feel like they just dived into the cali cartels story without much background about the new characters.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
My favourite movie of all time
Of course you definitely need to watch the prequels to understand the story here. POTC let's you experience a land, a time characters, and creatures beyond imagination. The adventures and action just get better and At world's end was leaving the best for last of the ( trilogy) at the time.
I definitely recommend you watching johnny Depps most famous movie and favourite character and what made him the highest paid actor at the time. This is a movie that I had watched with friends and relatives time and time again without ever finding it less entertaining to watch and would happily watch it again. I can't think of any other movie that I could say the same about.
The Batman (2022)
Better than expected
To be honest I did walk into this movie with mixed feelings about the new crew, but it's definitely an enjoyable film which I do recommend in 4D (something I never thought I'd say). The batman had big shoes to fill in which I must say didn't fall short from that. The riddler had bigger shoes to fill as all batman movies have you expecting a masterpiece villain performance especially after heath's joker and onwards. Although the riddler played his psychopathic character well, in comparison to the previous villains I found him halfly as entertaining or fear inflicting.
Some of the storyline seemed repetitive which I didn't anticipate well. The cat woman was also a bit underwhelming. I did enjoy however the other currupt characters namely the falcon and the pinguin.
Overall its worth watching and an entertaining movie. Did it match the level of the dark knight or its sequels? No. But I don't think anyone expects it to. But what I didn't expect was it not being far from it because I still enjoyed it and I look forward to the next one.
The Lion King (2019)
Spectacular Visuals spoiled with Poor casting/ Directing
Watching a remake of a classic like The Lion King you obviously watch with high expectations. I believe if you remake something you either keep the original script or change it entirely. But with this 2019 version they ended up in an awkward in between. Apart from James Earl Jones and Seth Rogan, I think the recast choices were poor. Though Beyonce may have been successful with covering the songs I did not find her the best fit for the voiceover enacting which to be fair is a difficult task and not for any actor. The transformation of Timon into a feminine gay male character did not fit in the original scenes and script. Young Simba's character is more arrogant and cowardly than the original which again didn't fit well. Rafiki lost some of his good scenes and is silenced most of the time. Over all the characters are with less emotion. And unfortunately although it is still a movie to enjoy (credit given to the original classic story and the spectacular visuals), you may leave disappointed a bit missing the original.
