The Punisher: Scar Tissue (2019)
Story Building
This show is more than just mindless action sequences, which is why it is interesting and engaging. Despite his status as the Punisher, Frank is not rootless. His ties to people, such as Curt, are what give his character depth and make him compelling. This episode does an excellent job illustrating that while also furthering the plot. Amy and Frank in particular have powerful scenes together that can draw the audience further into the story.
The Punisher: One-Eyed Jacks (2019)
Plot Development
Amy and Frank have great rapport and their scenes are always so strong. I really enjoy her character development and arc; she is an asset to the show and adds more dimension to Frank. This episode is well-balanced between plot and character development and action.
Perry Mason (2020)
A Show That Fails to Prove Its Case
This series is an insult to the source material, both the books and tv series. Even more egregious is the fact that it is BORING. So many trite clichés, only 58 minutes to try to explore them all. And, this is not noir; it is a poor imitation of it.
