A Harvest Homecoming (2023 TV Movie)

Good Movie

Love Jessica Lowndes and Trevor Donovan. On the positive side, the movie storyline was great and so was the supporting cast. On the negative side, Trevor Donovan, while one of my favorite actors, does not have a pleasant singling voice , It was painful to hear him sing. Unfortunately, they did not use Jessica Lowndes to sing as her voice is wonderful.

Overall, the movie was beautiful. Really loved the supporting cast. The grandfather was a hoot. The parents demonstrated a loving, long lasting relationship. The sister was memorable. Enjoyed the minor God references. The scenery was beautiful.

Highly recommend.

Love in Aruba (2021)

Really liked this movie

Start out by saying beautiful scenery. Loved the environment aspect of windmills. Wish they'd spoken a little about animal safety and windmills.

Low key love story about a damaged man and his daughter, Macey. He hires a teacher, Amber. For the summer to watch his daughter in Aruba. Amber and Macey spend their time exploring Aruba. Eventually the father attracted to Amber and struggles with his attraction and the desertion of Macey's mother.

Not the typical drama type "Hallmark" movie (yes, I know GAF, not Hallmark), but more realistic.

Lovely movie, great scenery, and loved all the animals.

A Paris Proposal (2023 TV Movie)

Boring

I was so looking forward to this movie. I really like Alexa PenaVega and the movie was filmed in Paris. Beautiful city and great food.

The movie is about two advertising people trying to get a major France jewelry account and accidentally pose as a married couple. The ads looked funny, but although the one-liners were cute, there was no chemistry between the actors.

I watched for half the movie and gave up. The characters were sooo boring, the story was sooo boring, no chemistry and I just couldn't keep any interest. Terribly disappointed. Total Meh movie.

Hopefully Hallmark starts doing better movies for Alexa PenaVega.

I'll say up front that I have read all the Diane Mott Davidson books. I actually used to work with her husband.

The stories are good and I love Nikki Deloach and Andrew W. Walker. They are so good together.

In the books, Goldy's husband, Richard, is a spousal abuser. Marla is Richard's ex-wife and Goldy's friend. Goldy's has a son, not a daughter. Eventually Goldy marries Tom Schultz (Andrew Walker) and Richard is murdered.

It's Hallmark, so they won't show the dark side of the characters, but I'll keep watching because I love the actors and love another mystery series.

Overall a must watch.

A Royal in Paradise (2023 TV Movie)

I was a little skeptical at first, but the movie was really good. It was predictable, but funny and entertaining. Rhiannon Fish did a wonderful job in the movie. She was sad, funny, and her face expressions were wonderful. Probably the best thing I've seen her in. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses.

Naomi Sequeira was beautiful and charming as ever. Mitchell Bourke was great as the prince. The rest of the cast did a great job.

The scenery was incredible. I've been to this part of Australia and they did it proud in the movie.

Overall fun, wholesome, great views and would see it again.

Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas (2022 TV Movie)

Best one of the time to come home.

Extremely well done. Tyler Hynes (Josh) and Steve Bacic were wonderful as always. This was first time I'd seen Holland Roden (Elizabeth) and she was terrific.

The movie starts out with a young Josh and Elizabeth at Josh's family Christmas party along with Josh's brother Andrew. Tragedy happens and story fast forwards to Elizabeth receiving a phone call that was meant for some else. Elizabeth sets out to find the person the message was meant for. The movie is moving, funny, and sad as we learn from flashbacks about the tragedy, the lives altered and how the characters are intertwined.

Highly recommend.

The Royal Nanny (2022 TV Movie)

I decided up front to watch this movie due to liking the two main characters as actors and the commercials made it looked hilarious. The story was somewhat believable with a credible threat to the royal family. I liked that they used actual names of places such as Kensington Palace and Fogmore House where the royals actually live. The scenes of London were good. They also used the new rule in British Royalty where the oldest child inherits the throne, instead of the oldest male.

The movie was funny, lots of fun, but also a good mystery. I've already watched it three times since it was so much fun.

Christmas Bedtime Stories (2022 TV Movie)

Good movie, poor ending

Despite any of the reviews, I would have watched this because of Erin Cahill and Steve Lund. I really loved the movie with the Christmas bedtime stories and the additional of her supposedly deceased husband played by Charlie Weber. The story was so sweet and heartfelt with a military widow trying to move past her husband being missing in action. But, the story had a few flaws such as the Base General having a really bad hair cut and her living on base after her husband is declared dead. But the major flaw is at the end when husband shows up with no warning and no intel from the General. Could have been a really good movie.

We Wish You a Married Christmas (2022 TV Movie)

I absolutely love Kristoffer Polaha. I really liked Marisol Nichols in Holly and Ivy. Both Kristoffer Polaha and Marisol Nichols did an excellent job. All the actors did a good job. The dogs and alpacas were cute and entertaining. The overall movie was soooooooo boring. I only finished it because of Kristoffer Polaha.

The main problem with this movie was the script. It started out interesting and promising, but quickly turned to a snooze-fest. The best part of the movie was the commercials. I gave this movie a six only because it had Kristoffer Polaha, otherwise I would have given it a two. Won't be watching again.

Perfect Harmony (2022 TV Movie)

Wonderful Movie

This movie has it all. It has humor, sadness, romance and really good music. The story and the acting by all was exceptional. I've always liked James Denton, but this is probably the best work he has done. This is first time I've seen Sherri Saum, but she was excellent also. Peter and Julia Benson were fun together. I've seen both actors in other movies, but never as a couple. Hallmark should make more movies with them together. I also liked the inclusion of James Danton's real son.

I can usually find something negative to say about a movie, but not this time. This definitely a movie I will watch again.

Love's Portrait (2022 TV Movie)

I need to say up front that you have to accept the fantasy portion of the film where William dreams of Lily throughout his life and paints her, including birth marks. Once you you get past that, the movie is beautiful. The acting is exceptional. The scenery of western Ireland was beautiful. The Irish characters were wonderful with their friendliness, accents and sayings. I've been to Ireland four times and found the characters to be real. The only thing unusual was the lack of Gaelic.

Overall, a beautiful movie where the main characters find love and heal from previous loses. Highly recommend.

Groundswell (2022 TV Movie)

Even though the reviews were bad, I really wanted to like this movie. Who doesn't like a Lacey Chabert movie? So I spent two hours today, minus commercials watching this movie. The positive - beautiful scenery. Otherwise, the movie was slow, it lacked much of a storyline, the acting was bad, and I didn't really care about the characters. The whole surfing theme was a stretch. Then then the Lacey character just happens to find a cooking contest gig.

The story had a little twist with Lacey's jerk ex showing up in Hawaii to be a mentor for a cooking contest. Overall, not a good movie. Fortunately I had cross stitch to keep me occupied.

The Journey Ahead (2022 TV Movie)

This movie was one of Holly Robinson Peete's best. Probably the only one better was The Christmas Doctor.

The journey of theses two women, who are an unlikely pair, was special, enlightening, sweet and humorous. The evolution of the two women was interesting and sweet.

The storyline was different. The two main characters were a hoot together. The scenery was beautiful. This movie made me laugh and cry.

Although it was a very unique story, I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because the ending was expected. There were no last minute surprises.

But overall a really good movie that I would watch again.

Good movie

I was very disappointed with all the negative reviews of this movie. The movie was well-done, edgy and suspenseful. Unlike a lot of the Hallmark mysteries, this movie had no fluff and it was necessarily to pay 100% attention to the movie or one would get lost. The twists and the cat and mouse stories were interesting and kept the movie fast paced.

I gave this movie a 9 instead of a 10 because I figured out who the murderer was, but I didn't figure out why.

I would recommend people give this movie a second chance.

All the actors did a wonderful job. Hopefully Hallmark does more of these movies.

A Splash of Love (2022 TV Movie)

Gorgeous Movie

This movie is worth watching just because of the scenery and the whales. The whale migration and history was totally fascinating. The one negative is that Orcas are part the porpoise family, but still fascinating.

The movie is a about a PhD candidate, Chloe who goes to upper NW Washington State to observe whales. She meets with a local guy, Ben who takes her on whale trips. A lot of folks commented that the character, Chloe was rather ditzy for a PhD candidate, but she supports my theory that sometimes really intelligent people have no common sense.

Both actors did a good job and how can your not like Benjamin Hollingsworth?

Marry Me in Yosemite (2022 TV Movie)

I'll start by saying the scenery was spectacular. I grew up a couple of hours from Yosemite, but never saw the scenes shown in the movie. The waterfall scenes were great. Hats off to Hallmark .

The story was predictable, but really fun. Really liked the chemistry between the two main actors. I was a little worried that Cindy Busby's hair color was going to be distracting, but it turned out okay. Tyler Harlow is a new actor to me, but he did a good job. Loved his aloofness and Cindy Busby constantly getting in trouble.

The history of Yosemite and the Native Americans was really interesting.

If nothing else watch this movie for the scenery. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this movie. It was sweet, but totally realistic. It addressed the fears parents have with special needs children and what become of them. It showed how special needs people can be productive members of society and have a great life. Great acting and great movie.

Slow Movie

I really wanted to like this movie as I like both Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace. But this movie was soooooo slow from the get go. The conventions were stilted. The characters were unbelievable.

Kevin McGarry's hair was much too long for the military. He didn't salute properly. Near the end they fly Kayla Wallace to the "remote" location where Kevin McGarry is stationed. Would never happen.

Two Tickets to Paradise (2022 TV Movie)

Really Good Movie

Although I really like both these actors, I was worried that the two wouldn't be good together. But, they played off each other well. The movie was quite funny. We laughed a lot. The overall story was different than normal Hallmark, but really well done. Scenery was beautiful. For all the women out there, seeing Ryan Paevy with no shirt was a definite added benie.

Acting was terrific. The story was sweet, entertaining and wholesome. Unfortunately given the economy today after COVID, this movie was totally believable with restaurants struggling to stay afloat. Highly recommend.

Nikki Deloach and Andrew Walker are really good together. The chemistry between them is good and they were humorous in this movie.

I've read all the Diane Mott Davidson books. If you're expecting a duplicate of the books, you'll be disappointed. But, the movie was good on its own.
